The lowest price was still over $US2K:

Camorro (128,128) Mature 58720m US$2007.00 May-11-07

The highest was only a little over $US3K:
Fratte Rosa (128,128) Mature 65536m US$3160.00 May-11-07

Is anyone keeping the stats on this, are prices going down.

I'll start thinking about going prem again when sim prices approach $US1K

Prices are going down a bit. These sim prices were real bargains considering most of the land sold was sandy attractive waterfront. As far as waiting, etc., if you are buying anything 2048 meters or smaller, the savings you get waiting for a dip in the the sale prices is not worth waiting for. Select the tier level you are comfortable with, find a nice area, buy some land and take some of that nice furniture out of your inventory and stay awhile. :)

Update 5/12: There's a new mountain sim going for L$9.0 for the steep parts and L$9.1 for the flatter parts. The sims due to be sold at auction today are staying low-priced. So things may go a bit lower tonight.

The gorgeous white-sand waterfront Nautilus continent is already becoming a part of the main grid with the auctions that are live right now being a part of this continent.

Go here and click on one of the sims for auction, get a SLurl and tp in to see the beauty before it gets carved up and part of it is destroyed by advertising and spam farmers.

From Aminom Marvin who is watching the new releases quite closely: "I have terrain mapped all of the new sims, and have a sim release count. The sims are not even grey squares on the world map yet.

You can purchase the map for L$375, and see the sim count statistics by going here":

I think LL has a pretty serious qualification/testing routine for new hardware. Even if newer & betterer hardware comes out, they're not going to start using it until they've pounded the carp out of it for a while and are sure it's going to work - I'm pretty sure that class 5 servers are all virtually identical and will stay that way. Any new hardware will go onto class 6 servers.

I thought there was a blog post about this around the time class 5 servers started getting ready to deploy but I can't find it.

No idea why they keep the class 3-4 servers. It could be that they just haven't got the spare hardware lying around or that they are upgrading them but it's a slow process - they don't get any more $ for upgradeing a mainland server so they're probably not in a huge hurry.

Whatever you are drinking, send me a couple of pints... is it called Linden Juice by any chance?

WE ARE the testers... the white mice in the maze.. the ants in the farm under study.. SL is a beta programme... LL are always playing catchup on so many fronts. Having been here quite some time, I've seen the shifts in focus.. I can't remember a single stretch of time when SL didn't have lag issues, or TP problems, Inventory issues, SIMs crashing etc.. With less than 15,000 users, Tringo boards could take upto 15 minutes to update and then pay the wrong person because it timed out. Clothing taking ages to rez... none of this is NEW... just more of the same, but more pronounced as more users join the community. Remember, we used to have WEEKLY updates!

Only NOW, have they actively sought outside help to fully load test the systems and clients/software before releasing them on the SL public, and thats only a start up plan... no one is actually do it atm.

Woohoo! From auctions just completed, none were over $US3K and three were below $US2K!

Do you think this trend will continue, or is the fact that there are no sims being auctioned atm a sign that Lindens are pulling back?

Hmm, there are no more auctions in the hopper, and land prices are still overwhelmingly under 9.0/sq.m. in the in-world land listings.

I would venture a guess that if we don't see land prices going back up today, this may reflect the loss of consumer confidence due to LL's fast and furious, and sometimes unannounced, policy changes. See thread on disappearing alts for a discussion of the newly imposed, and officially unannounced, limit on alts that results in legally-created alts of longtime residents being deleted without notice.

Everyone is waiting. The moment you buy, Linden will start dumping again.

500 sim a month is about 16 sim a day. If there is no sim for auction today, they will release 32 sim tomorrow.

If this is true, I find it shocking and unbelievable. How can they delete alts like that? I have several with inventories and photos and dates of creation that are very valuable to me. What makes them think they can do this kind of thing? Is it just a bug or an intentional act on thier part? I'll read up on it... LL's business decisions continue to be appalling in their lack of care or concern for their customers. I'm doubly glad I am tiering down to 0 land use fees tomorrow.

No wonder land prices are the lowest they have been since Black Thursday. The base mainland offered on the list is L$8.5-L$8.6. The other thing to note is that a lot of the land offered for those prices or thereabouts is nice, low lag green on new Class 5 sims.

I think the supply has finally caught up with the demand. Reasons why: Consistant dumping of new sims to auction. Less new users coming in. Less people upgrading to premium. The pipline of baby barons has dried up. Existing barons are tired of paying high tier for the land they are sitting on. Bots have killed margins. End users have found their plots to buy and are sitting on them. Estates are looking more attractive than ever as the ad farmers continue to slice and destroy the mainland. The concerns over the Germany thing have people not wanting to pump money into SL. Age verification concerns. Casino crackdown etc.

As I go on, it makes me wonder why prices aren't even lower...
