We've discovered a login issue that will require us to kick residents from the grid and restrict logins temporarily. We're very sorry for the inconvenience!

Talk about your ultra-short warning and no blog entry to explain what's going on/how long it'll take. I've been working all night on stuff...stuff which BETTER BE THERE when it comes back up or the mass killing WILL begin.

There have been major problems with the grid since Friday, but since all the Lindens didn't want to have to work on the weekend they ignored them. For an operation that runs 24/7/365 the Lindens put in very little if any time outside of their normal business hours monitoring and maintanining things.

We've discovered a login issue that will require us to log-out residents from the grid. Hope they will discover a log-out problem, next.

I think that was something like a 2 min warning. I had just enough time to link up my project before I got booted.

The blog just updated: "to avoid widespread inventory loss". Lovely. :(

I have certainly seen them put in overtime for big issues before, and I havent been around nearly as long as you seem to have been. Remember not so very long ago when there were three days of constant grid attacks? They were probably all sleeping on their office floors that weekend :)

When these sorts of things happen, I like to imagine that somewhere in Linden Labs there is either a big red button, or a big frankenstein-switch... and upon discovering the critical problem, one of the Lindens has leapt up from their cubical and madly dashed through a cubical maze to throw themselves upon the switch... virtual gates clang shut at the entrances to SL, while rotating red lights descend from the ceilings at Linden Labs, and the emergency klaxon sounds.
