Be very careful of what you do on the grid. Even though it look slike everything is returning to normal it is far from it. I decided to login and attempt to get some work done and transfered some items to a friend.

Even though the items had transfer permissions they arrived without the scripts. He was unable to rez any of the items and gave them back to me so I could attempt to add some scripts back in.

I received the message, "Unable to transfer Inventory.". At this point they ceased to exist in either his or my inventory folders and seem to just have been deleted.

Guess I will wait another day and cross my fingers.

My recommendation right now would be to not do any transactions or transfers of inventory unless it is an item you are willing to lose.

Yeah, I agree. I sent a box with 3k worth of no copy clothing and such to outfit an old friend who just joined up. Box went poof. He never got it, it didn't come back. I'm out a good 3000 Lindens at least.

Don't mess with anything you can't afford to lose.

Which basically means...log in..and then hide somewhere.

But even then...there will be the distant, terrible sound of footsteps drawing closer...

I don't think uploads are available. I've been trying off and on for a day now.

I got lucky and uploaded two textures earlier. I have had had problems where TP's have failed and then I've been stuck to even out the texture bonus out though.

Uploads are unavailable when your L$ balance is stuck on "Loading". As soon as SL realizes that you have the needed L$10, the upload menu entries become available again.

Ah sorted that for a friend by paying her L$5. Someone else here mentioned it had worked for them earlier.

L$1 will do. Basically, the client expects to be told what your L$ balance is when you log on. If it doesn't get the message, your balance won't come up. However, any time you recieve or spend money, your balance is sent again, and so that message can get through and fix your balance display.

Of course the problem is that the client won't let you spend anything, because it thinks you have L$0. So recieving even L$1 from someone will work. You could also use a scripted object to pay L$1 to yourself, because the script - being on the server - will know your real balance.

Hey LL, how about making an announcement or a detailed blog on this before hundreds more lose thousands of dollars worth of inventory items. This is getting rediculous.

It might be nice if they also include other inventory abnormalities.
IE: the return of all items, notecards excetra that I deleted over the last two weeks.
I can't open notecards, but I have all my junk back. lol
Gotta love sl lol
Addictive and NEVER boring :D

There is a JIRA issue on items ceasing to exist, linked here...

Transfering Items and purchasing them is going to be banned, since it relies on shoddy coding and random numbers to win... er I mean transfer.

Keeping items in Second Life is a bigger risk then it used to be. I lost a 2000 Dollar No copy item I was editing in a Sandbox a week ago because it crashed.

Just to comment: I'm in a very low lag sim and have uploaded a few textures tonight, built some items, deleted some and took some in my inventory. Everything went fine, no losses. Search is still borked though.
