Sim performance going haywire

I have always tried to keep my sim lag free since I purchased it a few months ago. I generally try to keep total script time below 6.5ms, however last night I saw some horrible script times coming from the region debug.

It seems almost as though scripts have doubled their script time and have forced the sim to run high 10+ms script time.

I personally have tried everything to keep a low script time but nothing at all seems to help.

I run an extremely high performance computer so I look to these debug setting and script time to give me a more average user based performance guide, meaning my computer might be able to handle alot better than average people, and I really want everyone who comes to my sim to experience as less lag and most performance as possible.

Anyways... maybe its this new client but if you go into the sim debug setting and "Get top scripts" if I hit refresh repeatedly I'll see it say script times of a higher value than if I just hit refresh 1 time.

I have tried resetting the server twice consecutively I have diasbled any script above .2ms average script time and removed many things and I still am running higher than I have ever been according to the region debug menu.

So I'm guessing its a screwup in the Region Debug menu, or LL has added another sim to share my server and now I recieve double script times... idk I cant figure it out...

You may be having a similar issue which is covered in this thread:
/327/24/193101/1.html

Sad fact being, you may be sharing a server with another sim that's in really bad shape, and is consuming all the server resources.

Hope that helps provide some answers.

Somewhat off-topic but sim lag and client lag are entirely different kinds of "lag", although people can have great trouble figuring out what kind of lag they're actually suffering from.

Someone else might be able to give clear examples of when it's the sim and when it's client but all of the ones I can think of can be caused by either a lagging sim, or a slow puter :p (well, except slow rendering which is always client side).

If the sim lags then everyone "lags", and tp'ing to another non-lagging sim will instantly fix the symptoms. If the lag is on the client then it will be just that person and there's not terribly much you can do about it.

You're doing the right thing by trying to keep your sim trim and fit, but in the end people will still complain about lag and blame the sim or the grid, when it's actually just lag on their end.
