I realize that in game you can select "popular destinations" but last time I did this I came up with a long list of mature clubs.
Anyone care to point out some of the outstanding things to do in SL? Thanks!
-Sports -Sight Seeing/touring -Exotic locations -Player vs Player Competition -Other

/108/18/77801/1.html is a thread about SL Tourism. My main suggestion is to try the search button and randomly go places. That's always fun. Good luck!

You might consider visiting My Gardens. Some people seem to enjoy them. You can read more about them here and here.

Prism and Llauren, thanks for the suggestions! Here I found plans for a Role Playing game to be built into SL. More suggestions would be appreciated from anyone.

Prism and Llauren, thanks for the suggestions! You`re welcome! From: Eureka Shinohara Here I found plans for a Role Playing game to be built into SL. More suggestions would be appreciated from anyone. If you are looking for Role Playing, you might find the results of a search on "Darkrose" interesting.

cool, thanks for the link! Hopefully Lake Gnoma will become a popular outdoors destination. My friends and I are still building up the campgrounds (it's where my shop is located) but we already have canoeing setup on the lake. Give it a try!

Links or location names would be appreciated! I'm also interested in how actions are built if they go into objects or if they must be added to avatars. Things such as how do you control motorcycle or how to you swing a light saber? Thanks!

I love swimming, in Linden water or in PrimSwim pools. (I use the Swimmer HUD by Siggy Romulus, and have access to several of his swimming pools and water slides).
I like shopping.
I like kicking back and chatting with friends while watching sunsets and sunrises.
I like building and terraforming.
I like designing and selling clothes.
I like roleplaying with friends.
I occasionally like boating, but don't bother with most other vehicles. (Why bother, when people can fly on their own?)
Most things like cars and swords and other items that require special movements will have the animations for those movements built into the object, which you attach to the avatar. Touching the object or giving verbal chat commands will control most actions.

Taking a look round some of the sandboxes can be a really surreal experience.

I hope this is considered spamming but I had the same problem when I started with SL, it was hard to find places. So I did a lot of exploring and we've built up a website that shows the good places we've been. (We don't review the lame places.) (And yes, the site is ad supported so be aware... actually, it is supported by our day jobs for now, we hope that someday it might be ad supported! ) Try www.SecondSeeker.comPW

If you'd like location names, I can give you two of them (I don't know yet how to post SLurls). Yes, my SL wife and I own them, so it is a shameless plug, but there are still fun things to do in both places, so I think they qualify. First, there's Cadencia Gardens. It's a garden my wife Cadence built, and it's very pretty. If you have a special someone in your second life, or someone you'd like to become that special someone, it's also very romantic. Secondly, there's our store, This ~N~ That. Yeah, OK, it's a store, but it's not only shopping. We also have an ice skating rink out front, which will also be converted to hardwood flooring for use for outdoor roller skating during the warmer months. Complete with free ice skates if you don't want to buy the ones from the vendor located there. If you visit either of these and enjoy them, great.
