Second Life 1.15.1 will be an Optional Viewer release next week. Many of the fixes listed below which are going into Beta can be released as part of an optional viewer, and we plan to do so as soon as testing has been completed. We are also planning to roll out additional simulator fixes for group IMs, group notices, and friends list as they are ready.

What of version 1.15.1?

I'm hoping and expecting that the blurry text problem is going to get fixed in this optional viewer.

I contacted Joshua Linden yesterday. he indicated to me that there would be no downtime associated with the optional viewer release. (and mentioned nothing about it being postponed).

I would assume that the optional update will be available... probably sometime around noon PST. that's just a guess.

Would like to see some of the specs for this update tho.

The stated release of 1.15.1 last week has now been changed to a completely indefinite "when it's ready".

They did not say anything about fixing the blurring text in this newest client. And I assumed they had no meaning to even try to do it.

How do you do that?

Winter Ventura Said... "I contacted Joshua Linden yesterday..."

How do you do that????

It sounds so casual... Whenever i go to Grasmere, Hawkshead, Windermere et al, there is nobody there, and never see a Linden listed as online. and I am just amazed at the casual ease with which you say "I contacted Joshua Linden yesterday..."

just interested....

Already noted in this thread: /327/82/183956/1.html#post1510058

If I wanted to contact Joshua Linden I would look up Joshua Linden in the Search, people tab, and send an IM, or send email to joshua@lindenlab.com .

I am always hearing this, some go around saying I contacted bla bla the other day. Now the ones running around like a chicken without its head are always saying this. Winter I can believe. Contacting Lindens at times can be a nightmare. If they follow all kind of misdirected bug reports, its nowonder the bug report system is so screwed up.

well it seems that the optional viewer (witch again came up with NEW features) has messed up texture preview for SOME people when in building mode.

What does it mean?
Well basically if you select a face of a prim you textured before and you open the texture tab and preview it wont show you your folder tree and the selected texture but only "No matching items found in inventory". Same goes for a fresh & new prim. If I want to texture anything I basically have to look the texture up in my inventory now and then copy/paste the name in the search of the texture tab in the building menu (or drag the texture from my inventory onto the prim itself.).

It is great that finally the bug was fixed that didn't allow to resize a texture preview to a larger view to read what is written under a set of preview textures for example.. but this is a big pain now and in my humble opinion this issue needs to be addressed asap and if possible before 1.16

I do know of Lindens in game a lot of the time. In these cases however they do not use their linden char but instead use an alt. You just have to who they are by their alts name. It would not be fair to them to publish these alt names though.

Does anyone here have a solid repro for this — search in inventory and texture picker not working? I've definitely experienced it but can't make it happen at will. If you do, please post the details in:

Torley I am having problem with my recent section in my alt's reccent inventory. It is literally not showing anything like it use too.:( Yet the regular part if I search for item works.
I often prefer though looking reccent section of the inventory to find newest items I put in there.
I am not interested though in signing up for another thing I need another password to remember.
I read the jira faq information and it hurt my brain so I never logged in.
What I am experience is there just isn't anything going on in reccent folder.
Literally nothing.

The last time I installed a non-required update it put my laptop out of commision for three weeks. I will therefore only install required updates.

torley I still had the texture issue after removed 1.5 last night and installed a fresh 1.6 after the update. placing a texture in the root of the inventory fixed it now but this isn't really a fix. I actually expected the texture preview in the building menu being back to normal with 1.6 Thanks for the link to the bug tracker anyway... ;)
