Should have got in at the bottom floor. What sounded like an atrocious scam is really the smartest thing to hit SL ever---bigger then genitalia and sex gens-----oh wait a GAME---an incredibly well thought out MMPORPG with the potential for a huge worldwide audience that should quickly overshadow SL's do-nothing existence and completly fit the mood of the bloodsoaked world of degradations. Although SL is a perfect platform to find unsuspecting victims, the biggest drawback of SL is the inferior technical quality. The advantage of SL is the ability to build things and to draw from the flow of newbies joining SL to twiddle themselves.. they will get what they deserve now. Unfortunately the current technical system of Sl is antiquated and would need a total redux to be able to hang in there as the near future, next generations, MMPORPGs from the REAL companies begin to appear. Bloodlines will probabaly have to jump ship to REAL game companies. If one thinks Bloodlines is just a scam way to make money best take another look. Truth is, if you complain about bloodlines---- at least it's an actual game....not like SL which is really just a Liberal university (fake intellectual) sanctioned, open source, porn media, blood sucker. Of course in Sl people will pull any kind of scam so there will be BOTS--LOTS of vampire BOTS. Bots DO have souls for the taking. There Will be Blood Bots, as far as the eye can see. Soon the only landlords to be able to survive will have to be Blood drinker. They will then only rent to Vampires. No one will want Lindens even LL. Blood will be worth much more. Save those Bloodlines protest buttons, because they will be collector's items. All the anti-Bloodlines people will be turned. Even the Lindens will have no choice. It will be join or fail and face their usurpation. They cannot resist the Vampire revolution. No one can. Blood overflowing, filling the streets. Every inch of every SL sim, accomodating endless miles of Blood Tanks, extending from the top of the universe to the bottom. ha ha

From: Wandered Miles blah, it's just pokemon for teens. they'll get bored soon. Teens generally don't stay in SL long. The story potential with bloodlines is massive. Too bad the playability of combat systems in Sl are so poor and clunky. No wonder teens think SL is a novelty joke.

The adult version of the Best Do-Nothing game on the grid is 7 Seas Fishing. I love standing there shooting the breeze upping my levels. The Tiny Empires junkies come in third.

Yay doomsday scenarios!
So bloodlines is a forced RPG that nations grid wide to annoy the shit out of people. But I haven't met a vampire in weeks. The last one was in a sandbox, and he politely asked if I wanted to be a vampire, and offered all sorts of crap in exchange for the virgin soul he seeks.
Well, I politely told him I didn't want to, and he moved on after a short chat.
I guess people make a lot of problems out of it. Because that vampire also met other people he asked the same way, and they cussed him out instantly, threatened to report and sue and ban, and all those kiddy talk promises.
He just asked something. And I suggest you just answer in the same way. No is no. If he starts to beg, and become annoying about it, there's a mute button. Use it!

I think we all know that the vampire metaphor is an ancient idea, very applicable, especially to todays world throwing in the towel. It oozes up from the pits of human misery, now enmasse along with zombies and other fiends from the darkness of human animality. It fits today's nanny-state mindset perfectly and in many ways a more honest approach to blood sucking--get it all out in the open. Afterall the current crop of world leaders are all about blood drinking and the darkness inherent in life. On another level the Bloodsuckers running this newage porn site, are mimiced by this new and inevitable Vampire takeover. Surrender now and avoid the rush. perhaps finding at least some semblance of dignity as out of the closet vampires. There will be no Buffy to save the day, no superheros. No reprieve. As people already sold their souls, it's too late now. Just join the Clans and give up trying to stem the tide. The coming barbarism is unstoppable. It will be like the natural action of the elements purifying and discarding the flotsam and jetsam from the sea. No sense in resisting.

I couldn't care less about Bloodlines or vampires in general, but I do like the way you write, Rebecca.
Tell us a story? Just leave out the vampires. They're scary.

I wish i could paint you a less scary picture of flowing meadows and prim flowers and birds and bees on tropical isles. Pegasus flying nobly in the air rather then being molested in back rooms, by twisted degenerates. Innocence lost.

Instead, the path that has been chosen is apparent. Tyranny of the majority of bloodsuckers. Enraging the earth and sky to reign down maniacal horrors in revenge and justice.

poor bloodlines players, spam the bite requests... and many helpers and others will report for harassment which will slap them.
Many places will outright ban you for wearing a bloodlines attachment, no bite requests needed...
The grid is cleaning it self up of them...
you see them spamming bites in public areas that are not rp sims: have the spammed targets AR, and iirc you can even report them to the bloodlines admins to have them censored for breaking their tos

I heard (from a bloodline player) that they are no longer allowed to bite people under a certain SL age. Not sure if it is done via trust, or if it has been scripted in.
I have also seen less of the bloodlines "spampires"
I also turned off scripts to the public on the sim I work at, which helped a LOT.

I'm in SL just about every day, sometimes for fairly long spells. In all the history of the Bloodlines game, I've only ever had one bite request.
One.
The guy who tried it asked politely first in IM. If he'd RP'd it in chat first, he might have got a yes. He was politely refused. End of.
Either my experience is atypical, or the spampire threat has been talked up out of all proportion. It's annoyed me more here on RA than it ever has in-world.

Yeah, the latest version of the HUD has a 15 day minimum age for bites on people outside the database. (^_^) From: someone I have also seen less of the bloodlines "spampires" Not really, they're just hiding their meters. (T_T) From: someone I also turned off scripts to the public on the sim I work at, which helped a LOT. The BL HUD works on run_time_permissions. No-scripts won't stop it. I do all my attached scripts the same way. (^_^)y

It's easy to forget that any one person's SL experience need not overlap anyone else's in the slightest.

Editing to say: Okay, maybe I'm being overly dramatic here. I'm not THAT bad. Note to folks on no-script parcels: If you see someone shopping at your store who suddenly goes shooting 100 m up in the air and comes down again a minute later, they might be a TE player going up out of the no-script range to get their fix.

It has worked (and I am not referring to "not seeing their info over their head". I am referring to the fact that a lot less complaints are coming in about being bitten and the spamires being rude, they just are not there anymore. (and the few that I caught in the new player orientation area, were trying to lure new players out of the orientation to TP them to a place where they could bite them)

From: Aeslyn Dae Shh, or you'll stir Jerboa into action. -- Aes But, as the land swollen by a foreign putrescence heaves in agony, a savior arises. What begins as a tiny pinprick of radiance soon blossoms into a kaleidoscopic symphony. The hopes and dreams of a downtrodden generation cry out for release, and in their suffering are answered. A thousand innocent hearts soothe the land. The threat retreats to the dark recesses of dream to rage in impotence. Like a balm, peace and prosperity descend, ushering in a new age of light....for now... *cough* woah...ok...who hid the dip?

7 seas! I'm level 3! Whee....
Yeah...I don't sit around and do nothing too often.
I guess I just don't hang out in the right (wrong) spots. Bloodlines has never really troubled me. 7 months and two bite requests. I can live with that.
