Scripted weapons no longer work?!

Hey all,
I recently purchased some scripted weapons, which have been working absolutely
perfectly for the past few days.

However, today, i went and purchased a multi-gadget. This was working perfectly alongside my weapons too, so i decided to go to a combat zone and have a bit of a fight...

When in there, someone hit me something powerful... I mean powerful.. My body got crushed about 2 million meters below the ground... So my only way to get out was to TP home, so I did...

Every since that, everytime i try to attach my weapons I get:
---
Corey Braendle: Script Run-Time Error
Corey Braendle: Math Error
---

That applies for both of my holsters, both of my colts, my sniper rifle, all of my shields, and my multi-gadget...

None of them work anymore, at all!
Is there any possible way to fix this? Or has $L2000 of my money just gone down the drain?

Thanks

Checked that, you cant do that because the object containing the script is no mod as well. Maybe if it is transfer, you can give it to a friend hoping that the ownership change does reset it. And then getting it back. Most things have a reset on ownership change.

Open "edit", select the item, go to "tools" and select "reset scripts in selection".

Should work.

You might try contacting the maker on Skype, or asking the reseller for help. Check the about statement in the maker's profile.

If the items are sold on SLExchange, maybe you can contact the seller through there.

Everytime I IM the maker in game he doesn't respond.
I managed to find him in game but he is (Away) and has been for the past half hour, ive stood waiting...

It seems he is just never available. I will try using Live Help and see if they can fix it.
Thanks.

Try dropping one into a No-Script sandbox, copy it, and take both. Then go to the weapons sandbox and try out the new copy.

this is why I ALWAYS make copies of all my auto, choppers, and guns, and us only the copy to drive, fly and shoot

Script run-time error: Math Error

I had this exact issue, after having a war with some friends, it was due to the fact that I was pushed to another sim whilst wearing a super collider and my Av scanner (so I believe).

Editing the objects whilst attached, then reseting all scripts in the tools menu did the job! but I had to do this for each and every object that was affected.

honestly... there are things you should do... and things you should not do.
Some peple don't know what NOT to do. For example orbitting people, crsuhing them into the ground, and things like that.....

That's why I stick to safezone scripted weapons, usually things without any push or funny stuff like that.

Good idea. Copy your things and run the copies; keep the originals someplace safe (where you won't put them on by accident). These copies will always be "like new".

The script in your object has a bug; it can't handle some situation it was put in. Well, it's difficult to test every possible situation, and these things happen.

LL intentionally made it so that we can't reset scripts in no-mod objects. This prevents a crertain kind of cheating for a class of commercial objects that handle money, for example.

Any object that doesn't care if it gets reset should provide a means to reset the script, as I've found concerning my own products. (I will be adding this wherever feasible to new products and upgrades of old ones.) Of course, this isn't foolproof either, since it only works if the script runs well enough and is in a state to allow whatever interaction it takes to reset. And for simple products without menus, it's often not feasible. I'm thinking of using "long touch" as a reset event in these cases (click and hold for 5 seconds to reset). Unfortunately, this isn't a trivial event to code, and has to be implemented in every persistent state. Also, it's difficult to implement in states that already have timers.

It would be nice to have a "Next owner can reset" permissions option for scripts, to provide a foolproof way.

I sold a relatively simple script that got hung up after a sim crash. I can't imagine what caused the script to stop responding to events. Most likely my bug, though possibly a server bug. In any case, the customer couldn't reset the script, which was a hassle.

You were probably hit with some kind of ownage system. There are some weapons that will disable the scripts in everything you are wearing and supposedly the only fix is to unpack a new item. If you are able to open the script and reset it, this may work also. I was going to figure out through testing with friends exactly what these weapons do to scripted objects, but I haven't had the chance yet. Here is an example of one of these weapons.

P.S. Make sure to keep copies of your favorite weapons and gadgets if possible.

should this ability even exist? seems like a real griefer freindly deal - "ownage" non combat type residents and mess up their AO's etc.

Probably not. I make backups of copyable things with scripts in them just in case.
