UK SLer's : Is this weekend a good time to sell your L$ ?
The USD $ is now down to 1.5 $ on the £ ...This is huge drop as the market implodes , At closing today on the US market that could go down futher .
If we are buying dollers for pounds we take a loss .... But selling dollers in exchange for pounds we stand to get a higher rate of return .
Exmple : $500 USD
Lets say last month ( it was around $2 to £1 ) we had $500 worth of L$ in world ...We sell sell off ... and then transfer the $ to a UK bank it would work out at £250 banked .
Today its 1.5 $ to the £ it works out closer to the £300 mark...and if it drops more by the end of closing trade today ( lets say for this example ) to $1 to the £ even ... it would be £500 for $500
Imnot saying it will drop that much ...it could even go up befor closing .... but right now at 1.5 looks like a good time to sell off $'s for £'s
What you guys think ?

It's been worthwhile for more than a month. The last two times I cashed out I got a lot more £s than previously, and I get a cheque once a month or so. No doubt right now it's even better.

I play a close game of poker. I'll sit tight until the market bottoms out (i.e: the £ looks like it will start to rise against the US$) then I'll sell. And then convert my £ back to US$ as the £ rises again. Basic currency speculation 101.

Been watching the exchange rate fluctuate since this morning and the stocks and shares all in the red .... it really is chaos today. Just have to wait and see if investers jump in and start buying up the cheap stock Allso good news is the fule price drop .... im off to ASDA to fill up with motion lotion How longs the transfrer time between LL and Pay pal after transfer ?

I'm not sure when this will bottom out but personally I felt it was too high anyway so we're returning to more normal levels in value. I don't think the pound will return to levels of $2 to the pound for quite some time, I'd expect it to settle around the $1.40 to $1.50 mark.

I thought Ciaran was the oldest man in the West Midlands I'm glad I cashed out when I did - might not have had much to show for it but it was some. Just a shame that it had to be converted to Stirling when it was, as I am only going to be converting it back to Dollars in a few weeks anyway. Damn the lot of you, I am craving Blackjacks now. The local shop does Blackjack chews ... and I'm going to go get some!!

Oh dear! We've got the old gaffers reminiscing about the price of boiled gumdrops now! You're all starting to sound like my sl partner who is in his mid 60s in real (I am 28 in real) Last night he was waffling on about Jon Pertwee as Doctor Who and was horrified to be told we have had a few more since then. In other matters he is switched on. But dont tell him I said so.

Is it meant to be funny? All the women sound like they are virgins!
