New update is Lindened again lol

This new updates auto log out after 30 min BITES! Who bright idea was that?
Is anyone eles gettin the quit confimateing box each time even after you check dont show again?

Lindens cant you get it right just ONCE just one time would be SSOO bloody nice!!

No problem minimizing for me. Make sure the AFK thing is checked in charactor tests. I tusually turns itself off after an update and needs to be reset.

Um, just to let you know, the 30 minute idle logout has ALWAYS BEEN PART OF SL. I like the warning before closing, so I think they did get it right.

There's a pretty good reason for auto logout after 30 minutes idle. Why sit there and tie up server resources for 30 minutes doing absolutely nothing? I do it myself at times to be honest, but I am not against the concept of auto logout. If anything, if the exit confirmation dialog is preventing the auto logout, then that's where the problem is

Yep. When I first came to SL last fall, auto logout after 30 minutes was standard. It seemed to become auto logout when we get around to it in later updates.

It can be annoying sometimes if you step away and end up staying away longer than you meant to, but overall, it's not a bad thing.

I've never gotten an anti-idler to work right. I never really cared, but yeah, 30 minutes has been standard for as long as I've been here.

Wow, some people seem to be rather unnecessarily rude and insulting, especially given the fact that they didn't supply all the pertinent details in their initial post.

I don't run an anti idler and I have the AFK thing "Checked", I never get logged out. Ohhh, I may crash occasionally, but I never get automatically logged out. I've left SL running the whole day(forgot to turn it off) while I was at work and come home to see myself still logged in. However, if I run two avs on the computer, one will always get logged off if I just forget about it and it goes inactive. Tonight, I left SL running for 2 hours and came back and I was still logged on......

I know the perfect work around: "buy your own L$".

This has actually been a much more stable version for me.

I've been trying different ones the past week trying to solve occasional crash issues (mangled network sata, buffer overrun, other things), and today is the first time I've had no problems at all.

Keep moving?
Yeah I got Auto logged out a couple of time last time it was when I had ducked down to the Laundry and got side tracked with the neighbour and came back 4 hours later to find myself logged out and my computer in sleep mode.
Pressed space bar an relogged, no problems..........

Wow! .. that's some side tracking Tegg ... don't tell me .. neighbour was having a problem with his bar-b-que? ... *could* have invited me! <sulk>

I downloaded this version somewhere during the night (couldn't sleep ). So far this version runs pretty stable for me.

Me too. Only one session so far but very smooth, no packet loss, no narcolepsy, and no crashes. I'm really pleased. I TP'd to a few places where I normally wait ages for textures to load, and I'm sure things came into focus much quicker.

As for wanting to leave SL running for hours whilst you're afk, shame on you. I have no sympathy.

I think that's precisely why auto-logout exists. Also for the poor dudes who spend so much time on SL, that they eventually fall asleep behind their keyboard. I'm afraid those are far more numerous than one would think.

Yep also done the asleep at keyboard, both face plant and head back on too comfy highback type chair

stop camping...and if you're not camping and your RL is actually working for you (meaning you need to spend time there) then do it.

So far so good with this version, however rezzing takes forever now.

I don't mind if they log me out after 30 minutes of inactivity. That's the way it should be IMO. Anywayssss, the update seems fine for me for the most part. I am noticing slow rez times at certain spots but it's likely related to the overall slow down in the grid post update. Everything else seems normal to me.

SL has logged out idle Av's after 30 mins for as long as ive been here. Get an anti idle if your not happy about it. think there is a free one on SLX. As a new instal I had the quit confirmation pop box and I checked so it wouldnt ask me again...and it didnt. Really not an issue worth posting on the forum about. Overall this update was one of the smoothest ever in my opinion. Little bit slow rezzing in busy sims after it, but if that is the only fallout then well done Lindens.

If you're gone...what's the problem with being logged out? What do you think you'll miss? Camping?
