Water not showing in sim

I live on one corner of my sim. So, I can see the two adjacent sims when hovering. Lately, over the past week or so, I noticed that the ocean water doesn’t show in my sim but, it does in the adjacent sims.

I asked a visitor if he saw the water and he said, yes. So it must be there. Anyone have any ideas? I have these cool wave scripts. I can hear them but not see the waves.

It's a known bug. On the menubar go to the "World" menu, then select "Region/Estate..." and the water can then be seen.

Simple fix,

just goto World, Region/Estate and backout again, some how it triggers water display.

Note that if you have estate access to the land, you might be able to get the water to appear normal to YOU but your guests will still have the problem.

And honestly, I've noticed the problem is random. Sometimes I see the water in my sim, sometimes I dont. Sometimes the estate workaround fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes my guests ask what happened to all the water, others they don't appear to notice.

I want to put some fish down in my sim, but I don't want them drowning in the air, so I'm holding off until it's fixed. (Sorry, digital fishmongers!)

This problem is very irritating and still exists. Anyone knows if it's on the official buglist yet?

Yes it is on the bug list and has been for a long time. FWIW, it *seems* to be fixed in First Look. You should download it...and test it before it becomes the official viewer. Download it here.

I've been using First Look almost exclusively and I encountered the problem in my sim this week. My own theory is that the water state gets reset whenever the sim is restarted. Sim owners don't get any warning when the sims restart (if they're offline when it happens), but I'm wondering whether all the times I've had to reset my water table it was after one of the rolling restarts or some random sim reboot.

I've no way to really test this though, so your guess is as good as mine.

Hmmm I have not had that experience with First Look. I have had water 100% of the time so far.

Indeed - frankly, both viewers are a total mess for me. I caught the stutter bug on both. Makes playing on any viewer almost totally joyless.
