I have asked 3 times an increase to my trading limits. ( right now i am at level 2 of residents)

First one was around Christmas, second one 8 days ago, last one yesterday
no response from the lindens

I called, waited for 20 minutes and i left finally a message in a voice mailbox.
I called again, and again after 15 or so minutes nobody answer.

So, what should someone do if he wants to do that kind of request?
I would appreciate even a negative answer, but not getting even that one, i don't know, makes me wonder.....

Is there a way to speak to somebody? Or someone to whom I can IM?

Any suggestions are more than welcome

All you can do it wait. Sometimes it takes longer then it should. There really is nothing else you can do.

Set up one or more alts, doubles and triples your trading limits. If you trading that high, a couple more premium accounts would probably not hurt you too much and make things more resilient for you.

Of course, you would probably have to suffer another delay before you regain your limits, but that is probably quicker than getting Linden response.

That question was actually asked on the Linden Answers forum awhile back, and the answer provided was that you could very well get in trouble for going around the system and deliberately manipulating the limit LL gave you by creating alts.

On another note, I'm not sure what you requested Brazil. I requested a Enterprise Level upgrade and it's now going on day 8. So it seems many of us are having the same problem. Hopefully it's resolved soon :)

It seems to be a growing club. I've requested a review the beginning of Jan and still have not heard anything. The level of service from LL on all fronts is going downhill rapidly.

I joined less than 6 weeks ago. When I joined, there were 2 million avatars, now there are 3 million. Let's just suppose each person has an average of 2 avatars. So that 500k new people. Out of those 500k, maybe 10% or 50k are playing on a daily basis -- just a guess by no means accurate. If even just 1% of them wanted limit increases, that would be 500 people. I would imagine quite a bit of work goes into checking people's backgrounds before providing them with higher limits -- at least when we're talking about limits like the one I want allowing me to purchase 20,000usd monthly, something that could cost LL a lot of money if I were a scammer and attempted a chargeback, didn't have the funds etc. Now, I'm frustrated too, but seeing as how SL has ballooned in population so fast, I guess this was somewhat expected. I for one didn't believe for one second that my request would be filled within 5 days, however it would be nice if they were to update the site with numbers more representative of what we can expect. I have no problem waiting a month but it would be nice to know in advance so I can make alternative arrangements i.e. work more hours at my 'real' job so I can make more money to put into SL when I get my limit increase.

Both Anshe chung and slexchange.com offer facilities to buy and sell lindens, so you're not limited to LL there.

For Brazil, as well as me, the problem isn't about the buy/sell, it's about being able to purchase auctioned sims from LL. We can't do that once we've hit our trading limits no matter how many usd or lindens we still have.

I have seen that, but since they give you the right to create paid personal accounts (in the registration process they ask you if this is the first personal account or not), then why should be a trouble to have 2 personal accounts? Where it says that by this way you try to manipulate the system? The limits i suppose are per account. Can this maybe be an acceptable workaround?

I requested business or enterprise level but certainly an increase. The fact is that they can't have an acceptable customer support or whatever with such increased numbers on load and users. So we have nothing else to do than wait

Based on this, I've just submitted a request for an increase now instead of waiting until I needed it, probably next month.

I'm thinking about emailing LL and getting clarification on the transferring to alt issue. That would be a very easy way to resolve the problem. I have 4 other accounts besides my main -- Reece Gunawan -- , so this would be an effective way to provide me with a limit that will likely last me forever on SL. As long as we've always paid all our dues on time, I see no reason why this should be an issue. I haven't done it as of yet, but it is mighty tempting to just buy a couple sims on each of my alts, providing me with enough land to carry out business for weeks :)

I finally got an increase submitted on 11 December 2006 but it took lots of phone calls and Emails to do it. LL is swamped with requests and too little people to work them. Prior to that I could get an increase within 5 business days and the previous one was on 16 November 2006.

Dear lord... With that kind of wait time, surely they expect people to resort to alts?

Since this thread started five business days ago, has anyone who was waiting then actually had a review and change to their trading teir?

I have not gotten a reply to my request, nor to my email asking if it was a general backlog causing the massive wait times or if there were other issues. It would be nice if LL could put up an accurate timeline of how long we could expect to wait.

I got an answer yesterday, not to my review request, but in a billing failure message, when I won in auctions a sim.

In this message I also told them, Please do increase my trading limits, since i participate in sim auctions.

Do you know the answer I got 3 days later? It's funny. They are unbelievable

Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry,

As mentioned there basic accounts can't own land:
http://secondlife.com/whatis/plans.php
but if you want to raise your limit you can do so there:
https://secure-web3.secondlife.com/currency/request-review.php
Regards, Linden employee name
"

They are funny, aren't they? I have a 1kUS+ tier fees, I had 300k+ meters of land and the first answer i get for this issue (after 3 revew requests, many emails and phonecalls, is that I have a basic account and can't own land.

I am sorry but they are a joke

Sorry to hear that Brazil. I didn't bid on any of those sims so I'm not sure if I would have had the same happen to me if I had one. I've now been waiting 2 weeks for a reply -- at this point I don't even care anymore if they won't give me the limit, I'd just appreciate knowing that rather than holding out and waiting...

By LL's answer to you, does that mean they won't allow you to buy that sim? Seems to be quite the mistake on their part... There's probably 100 people if not more regular readers of this forum that could vouch for you...

Hi Brazil. "Billing failure" in this case probably just means you inadvertently maxed out your credit card and they weren't able to automatically bill you. It probably doesn't involve your billing/trading limits.

Just pay off your credit card balance, wait a day, and then try paying for the auction again (by going to the page in the link they send you in the e-mail). You have about a week from the time you won the auction, if I recall. I believe you can go ahead and pay for an auction you've won even without waiting until they raise your billing/trading limits (because you don't want to miss that one-week deadline). This happened to me once and everything worked out fine.

I've been automatically billed within hours on one occasion for a sim won in auctions - annoying because it was assigned to me, whereas all my tier was assigned to my group.

Nowadays I pay for it immediately to avoid the same thing happening again. When you do that, instead of the land being given to you and your tier being adjusted, it gets set to sale to you for 0L, so you can buy it for your group instead.

I fixed the billing problem the first day after the failure. I paid with another credit card.
No problem with that.

I just point out, that I found the billing failure a nice excuse to ask them once again to raise my trading limit.

And I got this silly answer. I just believe they can't control a serious customer support.

In the three weeks since this was first posted has anyone actually received a trading tier review?

I received a limit increase, it took roughly 3 weeks. I did pester them with a few emails, however I tried to keep them as polite and professional as possible.
