Verifying Protocol Version / System may be down

Anyone else having problems where login hangs on "verifying protocol version", and then quits with a "system may be down" message?

As for my other issue where you answered in that manner, it was a problem that was helped by posting here. Just like you might be wondering if you can get an answer as well.

No offense was intended, and I explained why I posted that post in that topic with a reply here.

My question is if anyone else is experiencing these technical problems. If yes, then I will assume it is something about the grid, and come back tomorrow. If no, then I will assume it is something about my connection and investigate further.

Well as far as SL is concerned, its been buggered all weekend. They just posted something in the blog. I'm thinking something more is going on then just the normal "server load". I mean the message I received basically from what I gathered was I was banned, but just doing normal computer cleanup and reinstalling with the help of people here fixed it. So my guess is SL is having issues. More than they want us to know.

I too have noticed issues with SL the last few days. I looked at the grid status page and there was nothing on the blog when I posted. I figured I'd ask what was up before emailing support or asking my friends who are still in-world what is going on.
You're right, it does seem that there is something strange going on.
As to what, I don't know.
As to if it is something beyond server load, I don't know.
Only the Lindens know these things, and they're hopefully busy fixing them.
Maybe we'll find out later. Maybe.

Conspiracy theories? Never mind, I don't want to go there...

The Official Blog has just posted that there are grid problems. I didn't have any problems this weekend, so not sure I see any connection between issues some residents were having then and what is happening now.
