Hi ppl i had your same tought when Carrie proposed to me the project. I had to tought about it for a while and for the first weeks i were convinced this wouldn't have been a good idea, i've suggested to Carrie to reconsider the project etc., but she looked motivated enough to continue. Whenever i was on the side "hum.. im not sure how it will end...", i've agreed to work on it.
While working on it, i had to reconsider my initial thoughts, and definitively i can it ended as a "good thing" (i'm using "thing", because i wouldn't call a "human baby" (whenever it is (actually SHE) digital) a "tool" or a "pet" or a "gadget"  .Whenever it may hurts initially someone because it looks "real", i can see it adds a new level to the "family RP". I know that certain ppl will find the route to turn it into something bad... but i've seen this happening for almost anything on SL (specific problems must be managed separately; it's not the "product" but the "persons" (behind the avs)). Ye my opinion may not be impartial... but to be clear: i do not receive royalty on sales ..i don't care much if it sells good or not... my opinion is based on user thoughts.Cheers! PS: ye.. there's will be other races as far as i know. _____________________

Nice to encourage people to think of an infant as a 'fun accessory'.... To some people in SL, they are. I was bigtime freaked out last year when someone I had only just met sent me (along with his entire friend's list) a notecard asking for someone to adopt the kids he had with his partner as they were getting a new puppy and didn't have time for them anymore. The logical in me knows they are just pixels and not "real" kids, but still...I thought it was disgusting! |

Hey Vittorio, if you have Carrie's ear, would you mind asking what happened to the red, carryable Poms she said she was planning to make about a year ago. She carried black & white ones, which are nice, but the predominant color generally associated with Poms are the reddish brown. Zooby's used to have a red walking Pom, but even that is gone and last I looked only the white walking Pom remains. I know there are so many demands for so many different animals but when I asked if she were planning on creating a carryable red Pom when the carryable Poms first came out she immediately said yes. I've been looking ever since. Lol, the red Pom is the one I have also. I'd LOVE to be able carry him around, not just have him follow me _____________________

Lol, the red Pom is the one I have also. I'd LOVE to be able carry him around, not just have him follow me I know...aren't they precious? I didn't get the walkable one when it was available because I already had a walkable Chow from VKC. Then the carryable Poms were announced and I IM'd the creator we're speaking of to say how excited I was and couldn't wait to get one. I go the day they're released and only black and white are there. The designer was on site so I asked her if she was going to release a red carryable one as well and she said she was...and to my knowledge never did. Oh well. _____________________

I must not have "met" you on the forums at that time.
