I was just informed by a high-ranking employee that LL has been bought by Blockbuster Corp. The transition will take place on May 14th. On that same date, the Teen Grid is joining with regular SL.
To prepare for the acquisition:
-All residents will be asked to show proof of age. Copies of your driver's license, passport or notarized birth certificate must be faxed to (415) 425-6535. If you are over 21, you will receive an adult ID number. You must use this ID for all transactions and to gain access to mature sims.
-All mature content store owners will need an Adult Seller's License to transact business. Details on monthly cost and how these can be obtained will be on the blog.
-There will be a list of words no longer allowed in chat, profiles, descriptions and search (list will be posted on the blog later today).
-All Sexgen and Xcite products will have their scripts automatically deactivated.
-Couples pose balls must be separated so avatars do not appear to be "touching".
-Cylinders, cones and circles will no longer be in the builders toolbox because the shapes can be used to make phallic buildings.
-Female skins will no longer have nipples. If you buy a skin before May 14th with nipples, you may keep it but can expose it only in designated enclosed areas with windows on full tint.
-All penises must be turned in by the 13th. Except for that stupid big curved pink newbie penis. But that one must be renamed "balloon animal" to remain in your inventory.
But there is a positive side to all this: SL residents get one free non-new release download a month when you tp to Blockbuster Island.
BTW, it was not a Linden employee who told me all this. It was the night manager at the Taco Bell in El Segundo. But he said his sister knows someone who lives in San Francisco who ran into a Linden's cousin and got the scoop firsthand.
