OH MY FUCKING GOD!

A day, A FULL DAY has passed and STILL search is down!

This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Search is the backbone of SL, without it you might as well be playing alone.

I can not find the words to describe my outrage and disgust with this situation. It has now been over 8 hours since an update on the status, and the little happy face in the last update by Chadrick just pisses me off more! WE ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS!!! You can take your happy face and shove it up your A**.

In the meantime they post an update to the beta grid! How about the main grid?!?!

I am about ready to throw in the towel on SL, its just not worth the frustration anymore, are you??

"We are aware these problems are still ongoing and are continually working to get it fixed as soon as possible. By continually, we mean occasionally. But all three of us in the tech department are, like, IMing each other like crazy, and as soon as I get done downloading the bootleg copy of Spiderman 3 and Joshua gets back from his sister's house where he had to let the dog out, we will kick the server again and see if that does anything. If you are currently sending support requests, please refrain because it's pointless. Thanks for your patience as we work on the grid. Best! :)" --Chadrick Linden

Thanks Oryx. I'm starting to wonder if I'll get suspended for my post, to be honest it will be a welcome vacation where I will decide if I come back or sell off.

Shouldn't be anything wrong with being honest about the situation and thats what that post was. They can't keep us quiet and just pretend nothing wrong because this is major wrong.

I think it was nice of them to do bad things to the asset server to take our collective minds off of the "Broadly Offensive" blog post.

Although I am upset that my tinfoil hat won't rez from inventory.

Outrage and Disguist work pretty well if you ask me. :p The overall performance of SL since Wednesday has been awful for me, besides the search issues, TP trouble, reezing, and logging back in troubles. It's been a bit of an involuntary break. good thing it's baseball season.

Thing is, what do you want from an alternate platform? Because there really are a lot of options out there for most of what SL does, minus the customizable content.

Personally I think what every one really wants *IS* SL, just with a molecule of customer support and perhaps an ounce of stablity.

Unfortunately, if you're demanding answers, LL has already closed the Linden Answers forum many many months ago. I'm pretty sure it was because they don't have any answers anymore.

Okay, start of my SL day.

Attempt to log in - takes a lot longer than it should, but hey, I'm using the First Look for the first time (again).

As usual, I'm Ruthed upon logging in. Music is playing just fine, thank you very much, but where are my clothing/hair/skin/anything not related to Ruth?

Right, so I decide that the area I'm in is too populated. So I decide to teleport home to work on the shop. Guess what? I've learned a bit of German after all! I see the German equivalent of "Teleporting is still borked" and find out that very few seem able to teleport out of the sim.

It gets better. Apparently, I'm in my hover pose, even though I am not flying. I turn on fly and turn it off again and go into my falling pose. Yeah. I floated upwards. I log out.

Hmmm.. I'd hate to be at Help Island right now.

Here's what I don't understand.

Linden Lab puts out the "safe, together" blog entry, which many note is likely because SL, being a business, needs to look good for the corporations they're courting.

Don't these massive tech issues, frankly, serve these companies worse?

If people can't find Reuters Island, can't TP to Comcastic!, and AOL Pointe is otherwise borked, then no one will get therel. If the eyes don't see them, the corporations will reconsider their stake in SL. If word of these gets around (imagine the headlines "IBM closes prescense in Second Life" and how the reaction would be to it), other companies will be less likely to come in.

Working tech trumps all that other stuff, I think.

Hugs Stormy.

Hey I was told that search only brings up the title of ads and not the content... Is that true?

Search is up now.

And BTW, in the future please put the TOPIC in your thread TOPIC. Especially if you intend to criticize, you shouldn't act like an idiot yourself.

24 hours since the last blog post. And they never addressed any of the grid issues on the blog except search being down.

You know how when you are sitting on the runway but not taking off, it helps when the pilot comes on and tells you what is happening even if the news is not good?

More like it was closed because it had turned into a bitch fest.

I think it only became such because other avenues were turned off.

There's an obvious pattern: members complain in a location, LL shuts off that location and opens another, members complain in the new location, LL shuts it off, etc.

The thing is, people are *hungry* for communication from LL. Even just some clear reassurance coupled with an idea of what is going on would help.

Mari
(Who will admit, with some frustration, that she had hoped to do such for LL, but has never even made it to the interview)

Communication involves telling us something. LL policy is sweep things under the rug and present the best face possible for thier investors. No mention of the massive password charge; nor the great mess-up with that. Nor, the several other nebulous issues that abound.

true in theory, but as we know, the big Companies are not always known for sound business decisions either...
