Our group has four members - two of whom belong to roles that have the "Pay group liabilities and receive group dividends" and two who do not. After receiving money to a group deeded object, the Group Information window shows the correct amount received on the Land & L$ page under Planning, but the Individual Share shows 25% for myself even though I am one of the two who should be getting the dividend. Shouldn't this be 50%? The dividend hasn't actually been paid out yet so I can't confirm if that will be paid in the 50-50 split I expect, but I was wondering if I am seeing a bug in the Group Info window or if this is normal? Thanks in advance for any insight.

That window seems to be wrong still. It is counting all the members and then dividing it. However, when the payout happens, you will get the correct amount.

Dividend Disbursement was Correct

Dnate, thanks for the quick reply. It does appear that this is a bug in the Group Info window. The dividend was processed correctly: it was split 50-50 between the two members of the group with the proper accounting ability assigned to them. That makes that report less useful for sure, but I am certainly not complaining. I'm new to SL since the major group overhaul of 1.12, and I can only imagine how difficult it was to do things prior!

I noticed the issue pointed out by Korvel too and am waiting to see what happens to the L$s tomorrow. Another issue: When deeding land to group now, you are warned that if it is sold, proceeds will go to ALL members (I can't remember the exact wording), even though only the owner (in the case of my group) was selected to "Pay group liabilities and receive group dividends" before the land was deeded. This really needs sorting out. I will not sell the land deeded to my group now, unless the buyer is prepared to pay the money via my profile before I set the land to sell directly to them for 1L (or whatever the minimum is thesedays). I just find it difficult to trust this software at the best of times, never mind when it contradicts itself like this. _____________________

The notice should read that it will be paid to the group and then divided according to the settings, because that is what it will do. I have sold group deeded land and it will pay out accourding to the settings that you have. You may have a harder time finding a buyer if they have to pay you direct. What is to stop you from taking their money and not giving up the land? (Not saying that you would, just showing you what people might think.)

I certainly wouldn't buy land from somebody offering an agreement like that -- so thank goodness I'm not ready to sell yet. The point was more about my lack of trust for a groups interface that contradicts itself. Misleading information about the distribution of money = not good. Lets hope they fix that message and the Land & L$ tab information soon. (Bug report submitted.) ![]() _____________________
