Maybe clear your cache and or start out in a different location. Before you log on, go to preferences, click on the general tab, put an X in the box at the top that says "Show Start Location On Login Screen". That way, you can decide which region to start in before you log in just in case there is a problem with the usual place you start at.

What region is that? Would you like me to send you some various landmarks for testing?
May I ask what your bandwidth is? It looks like your avatar is in the air or the region has not finished downloading the surroundings. What kind of graphics card? RAM?
Have you taken a look at this system requirements page?

http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php

Since you can get in world try teleporting to a region with no people in it and wait for the surroundings to load. Click the search button and type in Fire Island. That sim is very unlaggy

This could all be a temporary problem. Maybe a Second Life server related issue.

It could also be a firewall issue. Do you have a firewall up? Or even an anti-virus.

It could be partial disconnection due to a firewall, too.

I've been getting the same all afternoon and evening, still can't get in.

I have had the problem on other days and managed after a few hours. It's annoying if you don't have loads of time to play :(

Hi nice to know im not alone and yep its very annoying if u just wanna chill out after a long day. Im a fairly experienced gamer and would hazard the guess that the servers are just not up to it but i may be wrong.

The Radeon may be over spec, but it's still slow. You might try setting the box for redetecting hardware on startup.

Also, how much RAM does your system have?

Hi Lily, running very similar spec here. Last couple of nights UK time have been a pig to get in with over 30k users. Seems once in, ok but just getting settled that first time is a major pain - lots of redirecting going on :(

yeah seems the earlier link displays we arent alone. i managed to log on a few times tonight but when moving from one area to another it would permanently lock. came to second life to see what the fuss was about but the whole setup seems done as cheaply as possible?
