is anyone else having problems

We had all kind of problems yesterday. We were usually able to log in, but on our quiet sim--no one else there besides the two of us yeterday, for the most part--we couldn't rez objects from inventory (especially newly acquired ones), couldn't attach things like hair or jewelry, couldn't TP to certain places, even couldn't get places to show on the map. Pretty much anywhere I wanted to go, I'd have to stand there for about ten minutes upon arrival, waiting for buildings to construct themselves from the ground-up--things weren't only "slow to rez" they weren't even there. It was really frustrating. We found one quiet sandbox where we could go to rez things. Then, last evening, I began to get that "downloading clothing" bar, followed by the message described above about continuing on despite the fact that my clothes are still loading. Rebooted my computer this morning to try again, and I'm still getting the same downloading clothing thing. Now I'm getting random "Unable to load gesture, Please try again" messages, even though my avatar is just standing in a room asking for nothing and doing nothing while I type this.

I was hoping things would be better today, but apparently not. However, I am glad to see it is not just me.

New day, still the same problem. No shape, no clothes, can't rez anything, can't teleport, basically SOL.

Still doesn't work. Anybody figure out a solution to this "downloading clothing" junk. I'm still rezing as a naked woman. I've cleared cache and rebooted quite a few times. The problem is not on my end. Nothing on my end has changed, bandwith and everything is fine! If i ctrl-shft-1 after a little bit it shows that there is nothing pending for inventory to download yet when i try and put on a pair of underwear at least is says that i can't until everything has downloaded! The whole "everybody else will see you normally" is BS because so far everybody sees me as naked woman! I'm effectively a prisoner of my own land because if i go wandering around as a naked woman and get AR'd by the fundies i'll get blamed for a situation that i did not create. This is so frustrating!

At least some of you can move in your naked woman states. For the past two days I haven't got past looking like an all grey noobie in a land of grey buildings if i see any at all and i can't even move but just stay suspended in a squatting position. I can't IM or chat, can't load inventory, can't pull up a friends list. And yet there has been absolutely no word about this problem in the blog. Now it has begun to creep over to my friends who can at least move around but can't get dressed or put on attachements and crash when teleporting. It's all over the place with problems so why haven't we heard something that says they are addressing it? Please, I'm desperate. I had a job interview today and I couldn't make it or even tell the person why because I have not means of communicating in SL. If anyone finds a work around or could petition LL to help, please do.

A bit of a non-update on this problem...I upgraded to Premium user so I could submit for a Help Ticket. Here's what I go so far which is squat...

Summary: Avatar and all connected assets won't load
Details: When I log on as Genna Gray, I see precaching followed by downloading clothing at which point I repeatedly get the message that clothing is still downloading but others can see me normally. However, no one can see me, my avatar and surrounding area is all in grey or at times not visible at all, my location goes to 10, 10, 10 of my home sim, I can't access my inventory, friends list, can't chat or IM, and sometimes my Linden dollar balance is there and sometimes not. I have relogged, cleared cache, reinstalled, tried other versions such as First Look and Beta and nothing has worked. This has been going on for over 24 hours with no change. Strangley, I can sometimes log in as my alt account, Emily Lilienthal, but other times I get the same problems as my original account. Please help me since I have business on SL and need to be able to interact with others on there as Genna Gray.

Please log into another region, like Cyclops. Clear your cache there (CTRL-P --> Network --> reset) and relog (restart Second LIfe)

Genna, might I suggest IMing Char Linden personally? Sounds like you have the problem that crops up once in a while. She might be able to 'push' this forward better.

*sighs* It's a sad day when we have to resort to IMing a Linden personally to get a problem resolved.

Thank you for the suggestion Raudf. I am at wits end going through the normal channels as day 3 is quickly coming to a close without any sign of relief. I'll try that if I can get on as my alt account or have someone do it on my behalf.

Still nothing works. 4 days of this "downloading clothing" crap. Still no TP, no clothes, no shape, no rez ability. Everthing shows up in inventory, but nothing works. Sadly I actually paid for the whole year upfront because my first weeks went so well. That was a mistake.

FYI, I finally got back in on my alt account...still can't on the main one...and IM'ed Char Linden who fairly promptly replied:

Yay for going in circles!!! I guess I'm just screwed.

Did you tell her that, according to the support portal, the problem is solved.

Does anyone else smell curry? Could this whole portal thing be a way to disguise that they have subcontracted the support function to Bangalore?

A positive update. Whatever they did today fixed the problem, for me anyways. So i guess there is hope. Still bummed I missed 4 days, but if this holds out for awhile I'll be pacified I guess. Hopefully everyone else is as lucky.

To read about all these things happening this late in the game is insane to me. Aren't platforms like this supposed to get better over time and not worse? And the worse things get the less support they offer. SO glad I am not paying them a dime anymore.
