Group Deleted

I had a newly formed group deleted by SL, said it was because there was only one member?
Well it was new????
But now since the land that was deeded to the group is still owned by the group, I can't touch it at all.
SL won't let me reform the group either, it says there is already a group by that name.
So how do I get the land back?

I don't know about getting the land back (the only information I find works only when you can still access the group info), but groups indeed do get routinely deleted if they do not have more than one member for some period of time (I think a week, not sure). At least I was warned about this when I set up a group, too.

I think land owned by a group that is deleted passes to Linden ownership and is auctionned off. Don't quote me on that, but I'm sure I read it somewhere.

If you set up another group, you need atleast three members within 48 hours. take my advice - make two alts and make them members.

Chalk this one up to experience.

If the land is on a private sim/estate (check the covenant tab for a name if you're not sure) then you need to contact the owner and ask them to reclaim the land and give it back to you.

If the land is on the mainland then you'll need LL's help.

Jimmy Allstar had the same problem (Desperately seeking some help. Throw me a bone?) just a little while back. It could be helpful to leave him an IM asking if/how he got it resolved?

Just FYI, the minimum number of members in a group has been reduced to 2.

You are correct here. I was just about making a remark about the minium of 3 here. I have for some time a group with just persons in it.

Thanks everyone for the replys.
I just sent an email off to LL, so I hope can get this fixed up. Yes it's live and learn, but I hate to loose a little parcel in the middle of my main parcel, you know!

I've had this happen to me before...you're gonna have to call them and a Linden meet you at the land, take ownership, and then sell it back to you for $0...good luck

Two points, Next time you Form a Group, make sure you Have a group of people who want to be in it Before you Create it, and Deed Land. The Other thing you might want to do as an extra measure of protection, Create an Alt, and Have That alt as one of the Officers of your group, along with yourself, That way, If your group Dwindles for any reason, your group title, AND your land are protected.

Angel.
