Hello all,

Over the past week, I've posted my question in the Linden area, emailed customer service, and used the contact form without any response. Can any residents assist?

I bought a piece of land and started a group. I deeded the land to the group I started. I was away for about two weeks and came home to find that my group was disbanded due to too few members. My land is now deeded to a closed group. I can't do anything with the land as it still says it belongs to the defunct group. I tried to re-create the group, but am told it isn't possible because the group exists. How can I get ownership of my land back? If I can't, will it eventually be available to buy again? Will I just log in one day to find my building gone and the land sold to someone? Thank you for any help.

If the land is on a private sim, then the sim owner can simply reclaim the land and redeed it back to you (check the covenant tab to get their name if you're not sure).

If the land is on the mainland then the only way this will get resolved is through the Lindens :(.
How is your tier currently allocated? Is it still donated to the now non-existant group, or did it become available? (Look at https://secondlife.com/account/groupland.php and/or https://secondlife.com/account/landfees.php)
If your tier has been released the land is likely to revert to Govenor Linden some time soon, at which point it would get auctioned off depending on the size, or cut into 512m² parcels and offered as first land (which you couldn't buy).

Other than suggesting you contact them (which you've done already :(), you could try calling them but that doesn't seem to work out well for a lot of people either.

Just for the record, does that last line refer to the UK number also?

Are you still a member of that defunct group? If so, just set the group owned land for sale. Make sure you set it for sale to yourself, not everyone. Then you can simply buy it back for L$1.

Agreed that may work but suggest you are very careful and check all box details before hitting that sale button, unfortunately there have been many documented cases of people selling land at prices they did not intend too.

Maybe even worth checking with Live Help first

Hope that helps

If the group is defunct, there is no group to belong to :/

This is a pretty horrible position to be in. As Kitty mentioned, it can only be fixed by a Linden employee if the land is on the main grid, or the Estate owner if it is on a private estate sim.
