Hi there

A few weeks ago i emailed the second life support that i got a problem creating a third additional account and the first answer ive got was that it was probably due to IP block or something and if not i should call the Telephone hotline. After calling it, talking to them about 15 minutes i didn't get anywhere near a solution because all they told me was the same as in the email. So i had to try and find out if it was really a ip block and i used different kinds of Proxys and still couldn't get around the problem. After that ive just asked my friend who was also interested in secondlife to try to register over my computer and he made himself a account over my computer and over my IP. So this clearly was not a IP block but rather the system was blocking my Personal Details or something else.

After emailing to support again i waited 2 weeks for an answer (i guess the email never arrived or got lost or something else) and then decided to resend the message with a little notice that ive sent it before. And the thing that is totally driving me crazy is that now I got the exactly same reply as in the very first email (only in different words) saying that it was a IP block and if not i should call that hotline. It's really hard to stay calm about that, i mean what is going on over there at tech support and why do i always have the problems with tech support??

Did someone else have same experiences or knows a solution for my problem or maybe knows whats wrong with tech support?

I am coming to the conclusion that unfortunately a lot of bizarre stuff that happens on the internet is actually inexplicable and unsupportable. I run sites, and even I have begun to take the line "sorry you couldn't use our site satisfactorily" and leave it at that. Mostly there just isn't any explanation for any of it.

Nilp - I wonder if this is connectd to the Disappearing Alts mystery.

Probably just the borked alt creation. The system seems to allow only one account per email address. If you use a different email (but your real personal information, don't resort to fraud!) it should go through. I ran into the same problem as you, as did a lot of others (just do a search on 'alt' in thread titles for the past month or so) and using a different mail account with my real info was how I and others managed to work around this. I just made a legitimate alt today.
