Where are my classifieds?

I have a look and two of three are not there.
Supposed to be renewed each week was billed on Jan29 and is one day late.
I am not impressed.
Do I make more?
Will the others show up tomorrow?

Well damn, thanks for alerting me to this. My classified is gone too. No wonder I hadn't gotten any sales last night.

Fortunately for me, I also had my classified duplicated as one of my Picks, so I don't need to rewrite it. Still, this is very annoying.

I thought mine was missing too. But then I remembered the NEXT button to bring up the rest of the list.

Just in case anybody else is as daft as me.

Check the Classified tab on your profile to see if it's missing, not just search.

If you had classifieds you better check.
Mine did not return (in profile) , I did wonder why traffic slowed to a crawl.
Why didn't all ads disappear or not renew?

Nah, no answer. Just put up with it I suppose.

Is it possible to avoid having to recompose potentially vanishing classifieds by selecting the text and pressing control c and pasting it into notepad and saving it as a file or by composing it in a text editor first, saving it to a file, and then pasting it into the field in SL where you enter text for classifieds?

Today was the second time I've found classifieds missing. The were set to auto renew and had been up for weeks and then just vanished.

The first time it happened with only one and assumed I must have done something silly. But today I noticed that 3 of my 5 classifieds vanished. One of them is the one that brings in the most sales. Sadly, i had not learned my lesson and saved the text in a notecard.

I am slightly encouraged to find that I am not the only person this is happening to.

...but I think we should all go one better and save everything possible to files on our hard drives or better still, create them in notepad, or something, and copy to notecards.
Probably good backup practice anyway.

You never know what will be lost next.

Add one more victim of the classifieds glitch.

My classified is supposed to auto renew every Friday evening and a friend notified me that it disappeared. Being away for the weekend I was unable to get in-world and my sells slumped big time.

Being a victim for the second time of this very glitch, I had already saved the text of the ad. However the biggest problem imho is not the text but the fact that our sells decrease dramatically *and* that we lost all the stats/teleports that the classified ad generated.

Yep ads disappeared too... re-did them and then that ad disappeared too.
Noticed traffic down dramatically. =(

I lost my classifieds during the same time frame. This has happened several times in the past as well. I tend to notice after a day or so of very low sales. Add to this the fact that about 25% of the time people cannot teleport to or from my island. Now the grid has been unstable for the last 16 hours and people are told not to perform operations involving inventory (which means a halt to commerce). These glitches have a substantial impact on my business. Unfortunately, they do not have an impact on LL billing software, which sucked $295 out of my account last night. At least they get something right.

Get the frakin act together LL or I might take some drastic action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Folks, check your classifieds again. I just lost another one. Second time this week. This is absolutely insane.

I am investigating this. It would help me if you could provide me with the exact date on which a classified disappeared, as well as its name/title.

Also, do you have a sense of when this started happening?

Umm James, try looking at when this thread was created.

...and several other threads on the same topic. Mine went missing this past Saturday AM.

The date of my post is the day my classified went missing. I'm pretty sure it was going to auto-renew that day, so perhaps there's a bug in automatic renewals. The name of the ad is "Animations from The Motion Merchant!" It's only happened to me the one time.

I believe I have found an fixed this problem. Occasionally our process that renews classifieds would run at the same time as the one that deletes expired classifieds, causing random deletions.

Classifieds that expired today might still be affected, but starting tomorrow night things should be correct.

Sorry about that, folks. We have to run lots of database cleanup scripts in parallel these days because we have so much data to clean that doing it all sequentially would take over 24 hours to do one day's worth of cleanup.

I'm new to running Classifieds, so when my ad disappeared I just assumed I had done something wrong.
