OK...well...welcome.

First thing, you've chosen a female avatar--this will make it a little easier to garner attention...if that's what you seek.

Why, if I might ask, did you choose to play a female?

Why, if I might ask, did you install Second Life?

What do you expect to get out of it?

To answer your question...use the search tool...go wild. You'll find plenty of people to chat with.

Your RL has nothing to do with SL. You can be fat, skinny, amputee, stratight, gay, or even the most darn ugly person in RL. If you're 100 years old wouldn't matter.
I've spent a little money on my avatar and frankly looks great and get a lot of compliments. But my avatar has nothing to do with my own RL.

I view avatars as merely illusion. If you're a nice person people will talk, if they don't it's their problem. If I become special friends with a certain avatar, I wouldn't want to volunteer information contrary to the illusion, at least not right away.

I agree with Zerock - SL is all about fun IMO - I only made this post really as a reponse to all those "Help me I'm new" trolls and as the most recent one got locked while I was writing something pointless and witty to feed it.

LMAO

Welcome Amy....if I didn't know any better (since my fiance is in Iraq and couldn't access SL anyway, nor would he want to)....I'd think you were my fiance cause this is exactly the kind of thing he'd do LOL.

You can be what ever you want to be in SL.....my best advice....explore explore explore!!

I'm typically more disturbed by people that resemble their avatars. (=_=)

Especially the attractive ones. I keep wanting to ask "What the heck are you doing online? Go out and date!" (>_<;)

Hint to all. Always look at Profiles, start dates and post count before assuming you’re talking to a noob.
Especially on a Friday :p

I'm with ya, there -- but to each their own. I'm in no position to tell people what their avvies should look like. ;-)

I actually started off as a furry but found myself isolated and then made the assumption that I was to be more a representative of my RL self. No furry rescue for me :(
Since then I have branched off with some fun RP alts.
