Hello, I would like to know if there is a possibility to contact my friends when I'm not logged in the game, for example from my work. I know that from SL it's possible to send a Mail to a contact, which mail is rerouted to the real mail address of the friend. So I wanted to know if it exits an applet to connect ONLY to friends without loading the environment of SL, or if I can send something to contact the person in a game. I have something really important and urgent to say to one of my SL friends today and I'm not coming home until saturday night and I can see she's connected by now, but I can not connect at work it is forbidden ^^
A lot of thanks in advance
Kind regards,
Sofia Bailey

There is at least one computer system sold in SL which allows for incoming e-mail, but the person you wish to contact via that system must own it.
Other than that, I know of no way to do what you wish, however some with more experience may appear with more authoritative information.

if you have recieved an IM via e-mail off the friend and it is not too old i have contacted them by replying to that IM. The only trouble is it is not delivered as an IM but as chat and if they are in a crowded place they miss your message. But it has worked for me

Parameters for Proxy
02-20-2007 07:28
Hi, I have just installed DotNet2 and Sleek. It seems perfect but the probleme I have is:
- I'm network admin at work that's why I have an access allowed to Internet BUT I have to log when I load a web page, I log, that is to say I enter a username and a password to authentify on the web proxy off the enterprise.
- So My sleek login process fails because it requires the authentification. I have no acess to Preferences or other tools or options to configure my authentification. Is there a way to write it in a registry key of windows for exemple?
And another question: i hope it won't load the graphics but only text? I have to be very carefull my boss is near me ^^ !!! LOL
Thanks a lot

Good morning, Yesterday I have tried Sleek at work but it was not able to reach internet because of our proxy server. But the software works well, I've tried it in a cybercafe (because I'm a long way from home like Lucky Luke!). I won't ever never try at work, it's not allowed )) *Thanks a lot for all your advices Sofia Bailey
