Traffic stats after the update

When I logged in after yesterday's update the traffic on my plot was at 0. I figured maybe it was just a glitch after the update etc but its still 0 now and thats 18 hours later! Despite the update yesterday I still made sales to at least 40 different people and apart from the downtime there has been at least one Av on my plot at all times since last weeks down time. Normally my traffic sits at 4K - 6K so something has definitely gone tits up here.

I've also noticed that every other plot in the sim 'Ear' has zero traffic as well so the prob seems sim wide rather than being local to my plot.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

Whats the most effective way to report this issue to LL's nowadays (besides marching into their HQ with a megaphone and a siren on my head)

Cheers

Same problem with my land, traffic at zero, with 10 people there! On top of it help appears to be borked so i can't even contact anyone to get it checked out.

Ditto here. I guess no sales for today again just like last Thursday.

Looks like the Help thingy is broken too. Go figure.

This may be the first step in doing away with traffic? They did say they wanted to get rid of it for a while now. *shrug* If that's the case, it'd be nice to have some warning, wouldn't it?

Or it could just be down along with the useless Support Portal. So, if we have a problem, how do we get in contact with LL now?

yes, this is the first time I've tried to use the new help and support features and it's bloody useless. I had no complaints about the old live help, even if they couldnt help directly at least you got to speak to someone. Now I can find no avenue at all to report this issue. Crazy way to run a business.

The thing is, all the sims around me are showing accurate traffic, even if that is only 1 or 2 at least its not zero. I would have thought that they would abolish the traffic system in one foul swoop rather than sporadically removing it some sims and leaving others with traffic intact. Looking in 'search places' the majority of my competition is still listed with their usual traffic so I think the problem is a technical one thats isolated to a few (or many) mainland sims.

I have experience this delay before and I dont think its related to this issue. Even if it takes 5 mins for your traffic to materilize in 'about land' it would still show the actual figure in the 'places' search. Where as mine shows as zero in 'about land' and in 'search places'

*snickers* Well, I could say that it IS Linden Labs we're talking about, but...

I do think it's a bug, but I am required by my nature to toss the idea of out there. In a way this bug might actually give them a good idea of how necessary some form of traffic counting is.

LoL yeah I see what you are saying...in fact, you could be right and the fact that the support portal isnt working could all be a planned tactic by LL's. Abolish traffic slowly hopeing none of us gormless halfwits notice and then when we do, remove our facilities to complain or report the issue. I guess nothing LL's does will suprise me nowadays (other than offering a bug free game).

Same with me....So I pay 30L a week to have my places at the bottom of the list...real nice...Linden Labs has been a bit better about keeping us posted...and I actually got a response from a Support ticket the other day within 24 hours (as opposed 3 or 4 weeks)...But this sucks...BTW it's entire sims that are affected...I guess some of us are Second Class in Second Life no matter what out tier is...

So does anyone know of an effective way to report this?

Maybe we should compile a list of the affected sims.

The sim I noticed the issue in is 'Ear'

I would think the best way to get help on this would be to log into the support portal, and create a ticket. Categorize it like:

Technical Issue
I've logged in, but there is a problem
Land
Land Settings

I've used it only once, and had a reasonably good experience with it, and I've heard mostly positive feedback so far from others, with a few less than stellar experiences sprinkled in..

Interestingly, even with zero traffic sales have been above average today. I advertise in the classifieds quite substantially and have a few other small advertising campaigns so it makes me wonder at the real importance of traffic listings in 'search places' Obviously more important if you don't pay to advertise elsewhere but if you can afford a decent place in the classifieds it would seem that traffic figures are of little importance with regards to attracting future custom. Guess I will see how things go over the next week or however long it takes LL's to sort this issue out.

Problems with calculating traffic scores are typically resolved in a day (as the sim gets to be a part of the traffic calculation once a day).

Yeah thats what I am hoping. I suspect that the rating was reset during the update and that todays traffic will show in tomorrow's rating.

Mine are down at least 50 percent today due to this issue and with last Thursday's issue of no search this is killing me. I'm sure sales will be down tomorrow too as some people like to pick up demos and then the next day purchase the item, who knows. Just deal with it right? Keep making things and try to enjoy it as much as I can.

It takes 24 hours to count the traffic. (I think its 24 hours anyway)..your count doesnt change just because you have real-time users on the land.

I submitted a support ticket regarding this. I got a quick response and was told there was no problem and that my trafic would update after 24 hours. Seeing as I'd left it over 24 hours before submiting a ticket in the first place (and told them so in my original communication) I sent another one telling them they were talking out of their arse (although worded more politeley) and to investigate the issue. Im not confident.

Porky, I expect a lot (most) of your visitors - and customers - come to your store either through word of mouth recommendation, or by checking the creator of your homes in-world when they see them.

That's my experience from chat with my customers.
