Is this a skin issue or shape issue?

The upper chest on my female avatar has a strange bony indentation. I'm wondering if that is a skin issue or a shape issue. I've played with both and can't seem to get it to go away. I do still have a limited number of skins so I possibly haven't found the right one.

Any suggestions?

Idunna, I'd be delighted to come and examine your upper chest in-world when I get home but unfortunately BT don't realise that when they text me to tell me they've repaired my telephone line, they should in fact have repaired my telephone line!!

Umm, the problem you describe; is it like a step at the arm joint before your bust slopes downwards? If so, a combination of bust size and bust buoyancy should smooth it.
Regards, Bil

Most likely a lighting issue.

Face west and Force - Sunset , and see if its still there.

OWWWWW bilbo you have my sympathy - it took 3 months to get the phone line and broadband in when I moved last year.

As to the chest ... erm ... I think your womanly charms are probably too big. However a face lighter might help, if you need one please just IM me in world :)

but .. but .. but I didn't move!!! I upgraded to unlimited downloads!!!

They send me a new modem which is supposed to be faster. They send me a VoIP phone to plug into the front of it which I didn't really want and one week after I get it running, the phone line sounds like the LSO playing Rimsky-Korsakovs Flight of the Bumble Bee on crisp wrappers and the modem drops off-line every two minutes!
Monday they text me to say it's fixed.
Monday evening they tell me they can't get an engineer till Wednesday .... oh wow! just in time for Update!! Yippeee!

/me resumes taking bites out of desk.

looks like a skin and shape issue to me...the skin has a lot of shading there which is accentuated by your chest.

hmmm. cute avi. I honestly cannot say. But if you've changed your shape and skin, then I guess it's a light issue

I'd say all of the above: skin + shape + lighting.

Have you tried moving your breasts a bit closer together? That would make the shadow in between look a bit more natural, which might make the indentation less obvious.

That and candlelight. Or sunset. We all look better in candlelight or sunset.

You can also use an avie light to make you look good at all times (at least to those who see local lighting).

hmmmmm looks like you have the "Tori spelling" syndrome going on there. I think its a shape issue becasue you CAN give sunken chest with in the shape options, have you tried altering

try making a prim light with no falloff and attaching it about 1 meter in front of that spot on your chest, it defitely should clear up whether what you have can be alieviated by lighting.

The female Avatar doesnt have a sunken chest option.

Thats the pectoral slider for Male avies.

For female the corresponding slider is Bust size.

That region happens in some lighting. Suzy is right, if the distance between the breasts is reduced the area becomes smaller. Basically large boobs squashed together hide the diamond shaped depression between them ...

Can't believe I'm showing the world my chest...lol.

Okay, so it's obviously a lighting issue, and I can set my world to sunset (or wear an ascot) but others don't have their's set to sunset.

Collette, are you serious about attaching a lighted prim to my chest. How weird is that, but I guess it would work. I might play with that.

I did mess with the sliders. The only one that controls that area is "cleavage" and smooshed boobs look stupid.

I do think a skin with less highlighting in the area will be helpful so I'll be super careful to check out the demos in all lights and angles.

I'd love to just "fatten up" that chest area, but I can't seem to do that.

Okay.. so it's a lighting issue? But i've never had that on MY avi, so it should be fixable by something other than light, right?

Yes, Im serious.

I wear a light for my for my chest (well the whole front of my body) AND for my face.

I find the face lighting problem even worse.

With enough body fat, big enough boobs close enough together and a short enough torso, I believe the area is almost unnoticable.

I never let SL's loopy lighting influence how I make my shapes look so I havent exprimented too much with the actual settings to minimize it.
