I manage the virtual office for TechSoup and several items that I own -- that were not "share with group" -- have been moved, taken or deleted while I'm away.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? any thoughts?

oh wow! TechSoup is in SL!
Cool!

You're not the only one reporting things are moving around on their own...
There's lots of forum postings about inventory moving around on their own. Things on shelves moving. About them being returned mysteriously. About them flying off into the neighboring SIM. About them just being downright missing.

Heck, there's even a long thread about UFO's being sighted orbiting in circles high above several SIMS. (complete with picture) (some believe they are beams from a club's spot lights that got away and are searching for their nightclub.)

The Lindens' blog says they are working on it.
Meantime, all the usual ideas:
1. Check your Lost and Found folder in Inventory.
2. Check CAREFULLY each item. Sometimes a group of things gets returned as a single object.
3. Then file a bug report.
4. Cross your fingers.

I experienced such a phenomenon myself: /111/38/153098/1.html
Furniture being rotated and moved by a total stranger who had no rights due to land ownership, group membership or anything else that could have granted him modify permissions.
