Some new or worsened bugs

HUD textures are a huge problem lately. They often fail to load and only show up as blurry preview images, despite the small image size (64x64). Editing the HUD usually works for a while, just opening and closing the edit window. But after a while they turn blurry again, usually when moving around within a sim (i.e. when additional textures are loaded).

I think that's related to an earlier change in a try to keep the database load down. Texture display problems have been around since then, like environmental textures (shop displays etc.) failing to load even when one stands close. Camera'ing (zooming in) on objects causes the texture to be loaded, but sometimes it turns blurry again minutes later. Since the last patch/upgrade, HUDs are affected as well. Could it be that the nearby blurry textured objects are treated as distant objects due to a bug?

Another issue is the rez delay on some objects (flagged as unused or rareley used by the asset server?). It can take 20 minutes to rez something, in the worst case. Sometimes a body attachment was used the day before and fails to rez nonetheless. Scripts using llRezObject fail as well, causing several of my wares to appear broken (they just rez 1-3 linksets, so it's not a grey goo fence issue I think, rather asset server delay). Customers IM all day, some of them demanding their money back. It's understandable when I can just tell them "Put it down, wait 5 minutes, perhaps the upper part rezzes within that time... if not, pick it up and put it down again... repeat until it works".

There's an issue with flexi prims as well, for a longer time now. Sometimes they stop... flexing, frozen in motion (all flexi prims in visible range). What's quite new though is flexi prims of the same size, the same position and with identical settings (two differently textured parts of a tail, for example) that don't move the same way. A tiny distance between them, a little asynchronous movement (one prim "following" the other) is normal, but now they're sometimes completely out of sync, swinging in opposite directions.

Yet another issue I never experienced before are scripts restarting when teleporting to another sim and losing the values stored in global variables. It can ruin things like HUD attachments that store button positions in variables, in order to hide / show the buttons.

Other things have already been reported I think... like attachments appearing on the wrong attachment spot, looking right again after re-attaching but changing their spot after teleport (ponytails suddenly growing out of knees for example), or the animation glitches (animation not showing for everyone, or at the wrong position, causing one to levitate 3 meters above a chair).

Oh, one more thing... yesterday I noticed my furniture moving and rotating (it isn't locked down). I followed the line of particle effects leading to someone standing outside, who was obviously editing my items. I don't know how he managed to edit my objects without permission (not on my friend list, no modify rights, not in any of my groups, no estate manager). No harm done, but nonetheless a bit worrying. I tried to test it with an alt, but was unable to replicate it.

Thanks for sharing this, Ishatara — unfortunately Linden Answers isn't for bug reports; those should be each sent inworld via Help menu > Report Bug if you haven't already, guidelines here detail more:

I'll move this to Technical Issues for further discussion, but it sounds like you have a good idea what's going on.

I was talking with someone about your experience and he was wondering whether your items were marked as 'anyone can edit' (I didn't even know there was such a feature), or whether your furniture had physics enabled.

Do you know whether either of these things are possible? Because if not, this might be a serious problem.

I checked it today, and both wasn't enabled. Neither physics nor "allow anyone to edit". Well, my alt was unable to move or rotate it, so I'll just hope it was an isolated case.

aaand they are back

- animation on some people dont start but are on their screen, tested with my alts, some animate just fine , sometimes they show up as still, but animating for others (isnt this way old by now)

- hud textures appear blurry for a looooooooooong time untill edited then it kicks in and usually rez it

- camera center on some prims/land plain refuse to work even at close as possible , rotate cam seems to fix this odditiy (alt-gr key for us euro's or ctrl-alt for those who dont have it)

- where my body when i log on -.-? takes about 5 min to load

- "You cannot enter this region" thats a new one for me, seems to come around when sim boots everything you try to go back and get this oddity error, first time i seen it, relog >enter sim name< to force a log in it works

Just the one i can think of top of my head right now sleepy.
