Noooo!

Basil Rathbone was SO sexy!

I had SUCH a crush on him when I was a kid. I would look forward to Wednesday afternoons when the old Sherlock Holmes films were on.

And don't even get me started on Robin Hood - I know who I was cheering on, heh

Basil is a close second . . .

But as for sexy, come come . . .

Let's not forget "The Seven Percent Solution" with Nicol Williamson as Holmes, Robert Duvall as Watson, Alan Arkin as Sigmund Freud and in an uncredited cameo appearamce, Cloris Leachman as the dog.

I like the theory that Mycroft and Moriarty are really the same person. It wasn't Moriarty at Reichenbach falls, it was Hercules Grytpype-Thynne, who was saved from death by a clever inflatable bladder of his own invention.

Please, let's not loose track of what's truly important in this thread.

Scylla's Evil ArchFeminist supervillain costume. Didya find anything yet?

Hmmm. Haven't had the chance to check it out yet. Maybe tonight.

I've been fiddling around with the laser eyes that Argent sent me, but I can't make them work. I wear them, and they appear for a second, and then vanish.

Argent, HELP!!!

IIRC, at least one of those sets of eyes works like a simple weapon ... go into mouselook, and if a small set of crosshairs appears where you're looking, well, position them where you want the beams to go and press your left mouse button.

Argent's eye lasers are great; they give a whole new meaning to "if looks could kill".

How about this as a model for a PI, Scylla? http://www.femme-noir.com/webcomics.html

I want an evil supervillainess costume too!

But I can't resist talking about Holmes. Anyone who's a fan of the WRITTEN Holmes...you know, he first appeared as a character in books, before they invented those "movie" things...should definitely read the "Mary Russell" novels by Laurie King.

In these wonderful additions to the Holmes saga, the heroine is Mary Russell, a tart, Jewish, feminist woman who meets Holmes when he is in his fifties and semiretired. She becomes his apprentice, being nearly as skilled in deduction as Holmes himself, and eventually his partner and wife.

Holmes, Watson, and Mycroft are all drawn quite faithfully to Conan Doyle's originals, and Russell is a perfect match for the brilliant and quirky Holmes.

The first book in the series is "The Beekeeper's Apprentice". Get it, read it!

I checked out the Milla's place . . . and decided that my avi has developed an allergy to spandex. But the film noire thing is a definite possibility . . .

Hmmm. A female feminist Holmes? Sounds pretty irresistible. Thanks Lindal, I'll look these up!

I'm sure we could get you to at least Evil ArchFeminist status or something like that with very little trouble.

A bit of spandex, a pepperspray and taser attack... a few incidents that make the papers... you would be all set :)

Makes her sound like Emma Peel with highlights.

(I'm noticing more and more threads lately end with someone imagining Scylla in something outre.)

I might have too. I'm a beekeeper in RL after all.

I don't have an apprentice, though. I didn't even know beekeepers could have apprentices; I feel kinda cheated.

In the story, Holmes keeps bees as a sideline. He is out one day, painting bees' abdomens as a means of following them to find a new population for his hive. Russell meets him by nearly falling over him as she wanders the fields, with her nose in a book.

I was thinking of going with leather . . .

You had a nice pic of yourself wielding a katana, and wearing something I rather liked . . . that might be the kind of thing I have in mind. :)

lol. I have a new heroine!
