Tourist Guide

Hi I don’t know if this has been done already but I am looking to put together a tourist guide for second life which you can view through through your hud, I am not going to include shops or casinos or camping places so i could really do with your help with recomendations of places to visit, eg fighting area's, well designed places, tutorials etc anything that would be a good place to visit, this will be on going so feel free to keep posting here and i will let you know when it available, please put location grid ref etc in post.

Thanks in advance

I used to run 'mystery tours' where the group would follow me round a selection of landmarks of random places. Turnout was usually good, so your idea is a helpful one for many reasons - not least the fact that search remains borked.

Feel free to include the Stratics Headquarters at Rosieri 40,188 - we provide facilities for new players (some through click-through access to our website), such as forums, news, help guides - and a sandbox for people to practice their building in.

Inside the building are some landmarks to other newbie friendly places such as NCI, The Shelter, Ivory Tower of Primitives etc.

Good luck with your project.

Lewis

Hi Justin,
great ideas! I have tourHUDS at my travel office at AmaZingg island. (http://slurl.com/secondlife/AmaZingg/125/194/24/) Both free and for sale, depending on the content. Furthermore I give personal guided tours to both residents and (mostly) companies :-) ciao, Zingg

Hello Justin,

I think it's a wonderful idea. I always love finding new places to explore and you will probably find that many people would enjoy having someone point them in the direction of some neat things to see.

My faves are:
-Empress Isle, the cave and ancient lighthouse (my own little creation)
-Elf Harbour
-Svarga (Is it still public??? Did it sell?)
-Bliss Basin
-The Ivory Tower is a beautifully constructed tutorial on prims (a MUST see for those looking to build)
-Lost Gardens of Apollo
-The Sci Fi museum in Indigo
-The SL Louvre (not sure if that's it's proper name...but search under museums...whenever search comes back on line)

Many, many more but I'm not inworld so those are the one's I remember without peeking at my LM's.

One way I've found some great places is by checking the Picks in profiles.

There was a thread a while back about the coolest places in SL...let me see if I can find it:
This should get you started....

And a directory:

Let me know if you get this up and running...I may like to go on your tour and see what I've been missing :)

Best,
~Ari

I tried to start club for new residents to get together and explore, adventure trips in Second Life together but sadly not experienced much interest in spite of paying 200L advertising cost in game, etc.
