wtf...no wonder people choose to be child avies!

when it is so much easier to be one!

over the past few days i have no idea what has been going on but each time i log in i arrive as some dodgy looking midget with two sets of hair and feet busting out of its shoes...then after spending an hour or two waiting for my inventory to load (yes its big...and yes its needed!) i find that i cant edit my appearance and i am stuck looking like well...i guess you know!
its not like i have anything else to do with my sl time...

i know about rebakes...test avatars and dumping attachments...this all doesnt work...takes ages for it to even register!

on top of this...the scripts dont work...pose balls are broken...
the tps just ends up screwing with my avie after i have spent what sometimes seems like all day fixing her...i feel like keeping her at home...too embarrassed for anyone to see her!

what to do?
do i make my avie into a dodgy looking midget and have done with it? then what would i do with all those overpriced clothes i bought from designer stores that i cant transfer and they dont fit? and how would i deal with the child avie perverts who proposition??

We're having Ruthfest in Monowai this weekend.

I'm having Ruthfest right now....almost two hours now and I still cant do anything.

LOL! I'm too embarassed to leave the house as Ruth so I've been organizing my inventory. Hadn't done it in months... about time I sorted all those hairs! I'm also chucking all my "uploaded once" textures into boxes and leaving them on the floor of the house.

Being Ruth is VERY productive!

I can't even do that. All my folders won't open. Thanks Linden for wasting ANOTHER SL Day for me.

Just to give you some perspective on the Ruth situation...when I first got in SL (late 2005) I had gotten my av to be shaped almost EXACTLY like me IRL. I was so proud!

Then one day I tped somewhere and turned into Ruth...and stayed that way. I relogged to see if it was just a glitch but somehow my shape had been saved as Ruth (I didn't try editing as ruth) and I lost my work!

I spent another 30 minutes trying to get it back to the way it was but like anytime a work of mine gets finished and destroyed (those that make digital music will know what I mean!) it wasn't quite right when I tried to re-create it!

Ruth is still a harsh mistress, but she has gotten slightly more gentle in her old age!

I tend to think of Ruth as my slightly addled, homely step-sister who only gets to come out of the cellar every now and then. It makes me feel all benevolent and giving to let her breathe fresh air.

I was really excited with my Ruth experience yesterday when I was logged in as my sexy brunette alt. My Ruth experience included bright yellow hair. Not even sure it was a color found in nature, but was a very nice change from the ugly brown hair she usually has. I'm thinking that bitch, Ruth, was trying for a makeover. Didn't exactly work, though, and I just didn't have the heart to tell her. However, I'm kind of excited to think that the makeover might include some new features for Ruth next time she appers on me.
So, what you're all saying is I should probably just forget about even logging into SL tonight? The blog says 2-3 hours until all regions are fixed......and that was posted at almost 7:00 EST.

I too have tangled with Ruth one to many times today. In my home sim she is the best I can do, but if I clear my cache and log into another sim Ruth let me go on my merry way.

Probably lame advice that you have tried yourself, but my experience has been that some sims are hopeless at the moment, but occasionally you find one seems to work...for now.

Extreme Makeover: Ruth Edition

I guess I've been lucky... since I started in November, I've only been ruthed once... last week, and after waiting a minute and not changing, I relogged and all was fine.

Seconded. Ruth is about 5'6", which is a very average height for a woman. For some odd reason there is an arms race in SL to see who can build the tallest avatar. Inferiority complex, anyone?

Yeah, this is so weird. My AV is almost 6'0", and I keep getting accosted by freakishly tall do-gooders intent on cleansing the planet of child AVs, of whom they think I'm one. Seems to me they're overcompensating their insecurities a bit with that Height slider-bar.

and yep...the reason why my avie is tall is because there are so many short arses around sl...as in rl...!

in rl i am tall...ok..not 7ft...but still the option of tallness in sl is there to be used and used it is...

she fits the poseballs with her partner which is all that matters.

personally i dont have a problem with my height, in RL or in SL...i have a problem when i 'hobbitise' which was the reason for the post in the first place...it wasnt put here to bash ruth!

I was not only Ruthed, but had to walk around with only one ill-fitting shoe on and black eyes. I couldn't get the first shoe off or a second shoe on.

I haven't been Ruthed yet (and I somehow expect I will now that I said that), but I have been in the "oops can't change clothes" problem. Especially troublesome when you don't find that out until after you are nude. And I was nude because I found I couldn't get a particular clothing item off no matter what I did, so I did that "clothes all off" option. Then I couldn't put any clothes on . . ..

Next Halloween, I think someone should go as Ruth. I wonder if anyone would get it?

Dang, with all these bugs going around, I'm scared to log-in. I've yet to have any problems...I fear my time is drawing nearer.
