Good point Lincoln! I just listed a few Classifieds the other day... I did 3 of them, paid L$50 each, although I wasn't honestly expecting much. Instead my sales spiked up already. And having more than one ad helps too, I believe - you can try different wordings, or if you sell a diverse group of things, make different ads to highlight the different products. Then you can see what people are clicking, so you can find out what ads work and what ads don't.
For what it's worth, and it's only been 2 or 3 days, I'm pretty happy with the results of my classifieds, and I like how the system tracks which ads get the teleports.

From: Conifer Dada I agree that it is probably just random statistics. I have never put sale objects on classifieds but rely on passing trade. Conifer, may I make a suggestion? The strategy of having several small parcels and relying on passerby trade is not a very effective one for SL as it is now. Before p2p teleport, yes, you were more likely to get passerby trade, and multi locations was a pretty good strategy, because you often had to fly across a few sims from a telehub to get to where you were going, so the odds of bumping into something were higher. Back then most of the big stores seemed to have multiple locations, now they've pretty much all consolidated into one location. You said you have about a dozen 32m parcels and your products are in boxes. You could convert that into one larger parcel somewhere, you're not far off a 512 with that, which is the minimum tier anyway. You'd have enough prims to make a little shop, which will enhance your image, presentation is everything, have some vendors, there's some free ones available... you could sell all your products and display images of them from a couple of prims. You'd have enough prims, depending on how primmy your stuff is, to put at least on product out for display - people are far more likely to buy if they can see the quality, click on it and try it out - I don't know if you're selling something like clothes, that would be a bit different, but, if it's anything made out of prims, you will sell far more at the very least of that one product that's out, and people are more likely to take a punt on the rest of your stuff if that looks ok. I have one of everything out, and the prims pay for themselves as a result. Then get a classified, start with L$50, make a nice ad and use lots of keywords in your description. Then you will get people coming who are actively looking for the kind of thing you're selling. Search is still the primary way most people find things in SL, buy a long way. It'll probably surprise you how much you'll sell. You'll still see ups and downs, but you're likelier to have steady sales overall. I hope all that is of some help to you.
