In response to the feedback to his New Years blog message, M Linden wrote in his 12 January 2010 blog "Responding to Your Feedback":
"To start, I am inviting everyone who posted a comment on my post to 2-3 inworld office hours in February. We will schedule them at times that are comfortable for different parts of the world. It will take a couple of weeks to get scheduled so if you commented on my previous post, expect an invitation by the end of the month."
The end of the month has passed.
I've looked for any comments on this--on the proposed meetings with M and on the question of who has yet received an invitation--on the Blogs. But of course it could be there, and yet hard to find if one doesn't guess the right search terms.
Here, I looked at the last four pages of thread topics*, and could see with that little work that the topic doesn't have its own thread, anyway. (Yes, the superior functionality of this place as opposed to the Blogs is old news, but it bears repeating!)
Anyway----I posted in the New Years blog comments, yet no invitation, so far.
You?
*to cover the 'end of the month'...even if a thread had been made earlier, it would logically show up with some posts made in the time period Jan 29 to Feb 1 by the nature of the topic.

From: Jig Chippewa Is it a BYOB? It might be "Bring Your Own Banana Oil", as in Your Adoration of All LL Decisions. What I'm wondering is: are those who posted in favor of All Recent LL Doings being invited, while those who posted doubts and outright criticism are not being invited....?

From: SuezanneC Baskerville I haven't seen my invitation. If I find I have a bit of time I may make a list of those who posted, with general classifications such as Defend Everything versus Not So Enchanted.... As I recall you posted some well-reasoned criticisms. Nothing that could be considered mad-dog, at all. But....I don't think you posted in a Defend Everything style... I wonder, if they do somehow 'forget' to invite those who've criticised, will we even know about the meetings beforehand? Would they go so far as to ask those invited to keep quiet about it?

No but you have to remember LL time isn't the same as everyone else's time, I'm sure they will get around to it.

My guess is that you won't get any definitive answer one way or the other on who gets an invite and who does not. Even if you do get an answer it will be questioned or otherwise dismissed. So what's the point?
You get your invite.............good. You don't.......well, that's the way the cookie crumblings.

I think I said something smart-alecky and something M. liked. Maybe I'll get invited to stand just outside of chat range.

From: Ciaran Laval No but you have to remember LL time isn't the same as everyone else's time, I'm sure they will get around to it. Well, that's true. I shouldn't have taken that "by the end of the month" quote so seriously. Still, it's interesting that there's been no breath of information about this (or so far as I can find.) One point of possible interest: I wanted to check on something in the original blog post by M, so put "New Year" into the Search window for the Blog [top right of the screen] ---and in the first two pages, M's blog entry "Happy New Year! Looking Back...Looking Ahead" does NOT appear. It may not be in Search for New Year at all I'm not going to go through all the pages generated. Point is, something that recent and that important should appear on the first page of the Search. The fact that it doesn't may reflect only the poor functionality of all Search in LL-related media...or it may reflect that the blog's discussion isn't something LL wants to highlight.

Haven't received anything. Then again, I was pretty critical of his 2010 happy-happy-joy-joy post.

Nope. Besides I doubt he wants to meet with me.
And besides I have said it before when asked. M has answered just about any direct fair question I have asked. So why burn his time on me?
I think he has become better at reading my loaded questions however.

From: Angela Talamasca Haven't received anything. Then again, I was pretty critical of his 2010 happy-happy-joy-joy post. One possibility is that none of us who post here---who are to some extent self-selected to reject toadyism---will ever know about the meetings until they are over. (Though there are a few "defend every LL move automatically" folks who post here, and perhaps they will speak up if they get an invitation. Or, perhaps not.)

No, I guess I am on "that other list". The people to keep out of the press conference because they keep asking reasonable but very embarrassing questions.

I'll tell you if I get an invite.............but I never posted in the comments. So that happens all your suspicions are true. Seriously, this constant calling anyone who happens to not go along with everything LL is bad is getting old. LL has certainly done some rather strange things since I've been around. But compared to when I did first come along they have improved quite a bit. The do pay attention to support tickets now over when the system was first put in place....the people who seem to have the most problems are the basic accounts. I think that should be obvious for the why but evidently the prevailing mentality here is that everyone, no matter what deserve the total, unfettered attention of LL..........even the people who don't purchase a single thing beyond a few dollars worth of Lindens per year. At the very least a premium membership would show some level of commitment........the basics do not show that. But that's just one area. It's the first day of February and already we have decention among the masses........."Where's my invite, dammit?". Petty, simply petty.

From: Ceera Murakami No, I guess I am on "that other list". The people to keep out of the press conference because they keep asking reasonable but very embarrassing questions. Yeah. I hate that this was so well-accepted during the 2008 US Presidential campaign as a reasonable thing to do. It's rather nasty, really. But: I'm not sure they can get enough 'automatically approve' people to fill the "2 or 3" meetings M mentioned. So maybe it is just a case of 'haven't gotten this organized yet', and most people who posted WILL be invited. If ALL are invited I will gladly eat my speculative words. (But if I hadn't made this thread I'd be perishing with curiosity, so I don't regret having made it!)

From: Ponsonby Low That's an interesting claim.
Can you support it? Specifically, with any sentence or sentences of mine (exact quotations, please) that are equivalent in tone to "Where's my invite, dammit?"......? No, no, on both questions..............you win. You're the intelligent one. You started a thread musing about anyone getting an invite to a promised meeting on the very first day of the month M said the meetings could or might take place..........you knew perfectly well that no one had received such an invitation. Your whole thread from the title to every response you've made so far has been in the direction that you won't be getting any invite........or if you do you'll be surprised. Now if that is not a backhanded method of screaming "liar" or "promise breaker" or "poor leadership" or any other form of negative comment you can dream up (yeah, get it started now because you may get your invite tomorrow)..........and, from my experience in reading your posts and threads, you are very very good at that. When you get your invite (assuming you do) and come back to "eat your hat" you've already done what you intended to do. Diss Linden Lab, again. In my neck of the woods you are known as a "shit disturber"..........and you try to appear as such a open minded model of concern. You're a fake out of the gate...........run with it.

I posted there -- and I'm a "fangirl" (apparently) so . . . But no invite. Of course, I did post a couple of not-very-laudatory little things about Dow Chemical in SL, and Bhopal elsewhere on the blogs, so maybe that's got me blacklisted?
