As a SL baby, I've done a lot of reading but find the knowledge base a little thin.

I need some advice on buying my first real estate. I'm looking for 512 sqm that is in an area away from fundamental commerce and big appendages. I need a little space to express and create. I love the ocean and even though I love mountains, need the land to be flat.

1. Any area I should look at in particular?

2. Should it be PG or Mature? I thought PG might be a little restrictive, or is that preferable?

3. Is there a big map? I wish there was a big map with server info and history info. ie like a map movie that plays from day one to current time. It would be really helpful to know where first or second land is, traffic, etc all in one display.

4. Is restricting myself to 512 sqm an issue? I don't have a lot of money at present.

5. Is there a better forum or SL url to discuss the above?

Thanks

1) Start with the sims in this thread. Fly around to these and surrounding sims using your map to see the land for sale in the areas: /327/14/176949/1.html

2) PG is fine as long as you don't plan on starting a business involving adult content.

3) Not sure if there is a big map. First land is no longer available. I have never heard of "second" land.

4) Yes, it means you are limited to a pretty small space and only 117 prims.

5) Try asking your question in the business section of Second Citizen: http://forums.secondcitizen.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76

You should use the Search, Land tool. You can discriminate by land size and price. First Land has been discontinued by LL. There are lots of 512s for sale at around 5500 lately. Just TP to them and pick one you like... Also, if you'd like a quieter place near a beach, you may want to check the land in Estates. They are much better for residential areas. These would be rentals and not buys, regardless of what the landlord tells you. I've seen some for 0L move-in price, just pay tier. Good luck in your search.

The main thing is to not rush in and do a lot of flying around. You will fall in love with a sim. Hopefully it will have a 512 that is in your price range. Good luck!

I agree with the not rushing into anything. However, flying makes me nausious. Teleport around.

My advise, spend at least 3 weeks just learning the market, then waiting for a significant dip in the numbers.
