Some may say: rent.
Other: Sell skins or clothes.
Maybe selling buildings.

I guess it depends if your are accounting for the hours you work as well as the cost of land fees, software tools, classifieds etc..
For the effort involved I'm not sure any of them can really be classed as profitable when you compare them to a first world job. |

Novis, I have escort friends who are raking it in hand over fist...and others who can't seem to make a single $L. It depends on how good you are. "Escort" is a highly sklled trade, and very underrated in the social strata.
A good escort is a talented improv actress (or actor, though I don't know any male escorts personally) and knows how to enchant and excite a client by a process of subtly guided collaborative storytelling. I wouldn't enter into SL just to make money. It's a pipe dream... may happen, may not. If you're really interested in making a go at living/working here, I'd recommend just fooling around for a few months at least before you jump into business.

I don't use them myself but i like to know as much about SL as i can and i will admit that i hired one escort to see what virtual sex would be like, but personally in-world sex just isn't as good as real sex or even porn for that matter. _____________________
