Can I change L$ in $ without having to deal with LindenLab?

Where can I exchange L$ directly, without LindenLab's "help". Or, more correctly, how can I sell my L$ without being ripedoff by LindenLab?

If you don't want to use the Lindex, you can try SLX or AnsheX. The latter is operated by Anshe Chung and requires you sell a minimum of L$50,000 though.

Is this just a lame attempt to advertise your website? If not you can't do better than the Lindex when it comes to selling Lindens. You may be able to beat them buying Lindens via slexchange, but it's barely worth the effort. You /definitely/ cannot beat the Lindex for both liquidity and safety. I've lost money through SLExchange before, although to be fair they returned it about 26 hours later.

Did you really lose money, or did you just not like the fees that were applied? Or maybe other debits were hit to your account that came from you USD balance? I have used the exchange since it was started and I have never lost money on it, except for the fees and the charges to my account.

I think personally its just a lack of knowledge of the process of selling L$/cashing out/US$ balance being applied to fees.

That being said, it seems to me the alternative that most people use to sell thier L$ is SLX.

yes. the AnsheX option isn't that competitive unless you're selling a few hundred thousand L$s..and as LL don't seem to like people buying from Ebay, I think I'd avoid them for selling too.
