I'm curious as to what size groups are able to send out notices vs. those who cannot.
I am still unable to send notices to my group regardless of the notice, if it has attachments or not...etc. (yes, I've bug reported it).
Is there a certain "cut-off" number of members for which this becomes an issue...i.e. up to 200 members no problem, 201+ not happening no way, no how.
Best, ~Ari

I was part of a group with only 10 members and was able to send a notice. Of course, I had problem sending notices as well until i realized the Send Notice button was seperate and different than the Ok button. -_- So many notices and messages re-written.
Conversely, I'm a member of Roarth Tower, which I believe has over 300 members, and I still recieve thier notices fine. I believe people in a group recieving your notice may be a presence issue, and not a group/group size issue.

Yes...that little button seems to be invisible at first doesn't it? (tricky little button). I was present when I sent it...does that count???? *wink* I've considered operator error, but I've heard others were having issues so I thought I'd ask and see if there was a pattern or if this is just a random gremlin on the loose. Thanks for your response! ~Ari

Kelly Linden informed me I received a answer - but obviously not a satisfactory one. Please continue to bug report this folks. Group notices for large groups does not work.

I read your post in LA when it was first posted, and the answer did not seem to solve anything. It's my primary method of communicating with my customers/members and it irks me when it isn't working. What else is there? Group IM's are soooo annoying! ~Ari

My group is over 500 now. For a while group notices weren't working, but as of this past weekend, they seem to be. I do not always get one back though. When that happens, I check my alt's email to see if it was actually sent.

A couple of the lucky chair groups have 1000+ members ("Super Awesome Lucky Chair Wow" was around 1300 members last time I checked), and they don't seem to have any problems putting messages out.
So, I suspect the cause of the problem isn't necessarily to do with size...

sending a group chat works fine. Sending a NOTICE fails miserably when the group is large.

I have heard it reported that it can be more successful sending group notices from certain places than perhaps others. Does anyone know anything about this?

in a group of 800+ here, no problem sending/receiving notices lately.
there was an "outbreak" (many) weeks back that many were not able to send/receive any. it doesnt affect a particular group or size but certain avatars i guess.
my deduction: connection to a certain database (containing your avatar's info) is bad.

Yes this is true. On my Class 4 Sim my notices mostly fail. I goto a undeveloped Class 5 Sim and they go through quickly. Even my group of over 4500 members get notices. Some times half get them before the send times-out. But this is much better than the 100% failure rate we had last year at this time.

Most productive (relatively speaking) at this point would be to document this issue as clearly & detailed as you can on JIRA.
Once you have the JIRA incident number, you can encourage other folks who are having similar problems to vote for it.

It certainly is annoying, especially when you need to get in contact with lots of them, or when you need a helping hand with something.. grr i wish it would get fixed sooner rather then later
