This has happened to me and several friends with large groups. My group has over 1500 members. When I send a notice it does not register. What is the limit of members for the notice feature to work? Is this a bug? And if it is - is there a timeline on a fix?

Robin Linden response:

I don't think there's an upper limit on group size, but it's possible that there is a limit on group notices. I'll have to check for you and find out.

The amount of notices sent out is not the issue. I have only sent 3 messages from this group. I would like to send more, but since none of the messages ever register, its a colossal waste of time. Is there a way to make group notices work for large groups?

Group notices should work for any size of group. If they do not please file a bug report. Include the size of the group and whether or not the notice ends up in the notice history after you send it and close then re-open the group information window.

Some notes:
- You must press Send to send the notice - pressing 'ok' or 'apply' will not send the notice.

- It is possible for roles in a group to not have notices enabled - meaning anyone who is only in that role will not get notices. If notices are enabled for the Everyone role then this isn't an issue. This power is 'Recieve Notices and View Past Notices' in the Notices category.

- Also every member can decide for every group if they want to receive notices or not. The checkbox for this is in the bottom right corner of the Group Information window on the General tab.

If you are sure all of that is set correct and people in roles set to receive notices who have opted in to receive notices themsevles are not getting the notices then please, file a bug report so we can look into it.
