inactivity

Hi, i'm new in second life, just playing around. i discovered hedonistic beach and was hanging around to earn some money, how they invite you to do. the second day they kicked me out. i tried to log in again, but was just hanging in the air. now i'am in sl again, but i can't go to their beach again, and i'm always kicked out after half hour of inactivity in the entire sl. i shit on therir beach, but am i on some kind of ban list now and what can i do against it ... love & sunshine

getting kicked out of SL after 30 min of inactivity? Must be a new feature... NOT! Do something already! Move around, explore, build, make yourself useful! How much pitiful L$ can you make doing nothing?

The 30 minute inactivity kick is fairly common across SL. Not totally convinced of its benefit for us or LL and I know there are ways to circumvent it anyway.

The floating thing is common when logging in or teleporting. Give it a few seconds for the system to settle and you usually 'land'. If not, check on the flying/stop flying button to see if you are indeed flying.

Do you hit red banlines when you try to approach the area? You should have received a message explaining you are banned if this is the case. Please read /327/cd/164687/1.html for some background info on bans.

Ah, when cursor controls don't react is usually a good (?) sign of the dreaded lag. Be patient, lots of data streaming in from the web servers.
If really hung up which does sometimes happen, try teleporting somewhere else and back. If still bad, try a relog.
People recommend clearing cache but to be honest, in four months of SL I've never done that.
When logging in, glance at the number of concurrent users. If over 30,000 you can expect delays although strangely the last couple of days I've seen a small reduction of that number.

Lag is a term used to describe the hanging, not being able to move or if you do it's like slowmotion. This is commonly caused when you're in a very busy area with lots of ppl.

LOL yes Goananda, you will most certainly come across residents in world and here for that matter complaining of the time lag while waiting for data to load. Avatars will speak of 'it's laggy here' or mention 'lagginess' in sentences. It's something we've all had to put up with and there are entire threads here devoted to the subject.

yes, it's much nicer as to make your taxes and other boring thinx, never thought i would like it, i don't play any games or such shoot around stuff...
