Disable or deprioritize lighting on attachments?

Is it possible to disable or deprioritize lighting on attachments? Because there seems to be a limit on the # of lights (6?) I find that people who have lit up their attachments are interferring with hard wrought lighting effects for the people around them.

It would be ideal if we could utilize prim lights before attachment lights. In other words, if there is some spots left over then the attachment lights could be used.

Obviously if this is a technical challenge, it's not high priority, but if it is low hanging I hope you'll give it some thought.

I believe this should be the highest priority with lighting at the moment. Environment (non-attached) lighting should take precedence over attached lighting. A good reason why this would save us is I know, just know, that jewelry makers will go nuts and put lights on their creations when no lights should exist at all. If I make a well lit gazebo with fireflies acting as a romantic light source, I don't want that destroyed because someone sitting inside the structure is wearing 20 light sources (most of which won't show up).

Yep agreed. Environment lighting over attachment lighting.

I concur, but make it a client option and not hardwired into SL.

I would've suggested prioritizing the lights in objects owned by the user (for that user).

Please deprioritize only other people's lights and make it an option, if you are going to do it.

I am having so much fun wandering in preview with force-midnight, nighttime brightness to the minimum and my brand new torch. :)

You think your torch is cool... try adding a light to your camera follower.

But when everyone starts doing that, we'll need a second option... so...

[x] Disable lighting on other avatars.
[x] Disable lighting on physical objects.
