In the file SecondLife/user_settings/settings.ini if you set 'GraphicsCardMemorySetting' to 1 then SL should use 32MB graphics RAM, which is at least slightly tolerable.

I went and edited my settings.ini to set the memory to 3 (and likewise enable AGP while I was at it). Upon boot, it claims it is utilizing the 128 megs of vram (and likewise the preferences show it actively using the shadowed out 128 megs option). I am not certain it is actually using it though, as it seems textures unload quicker than on Windows or Wine.

/update: Odd enough, after making these changes, I no longer am having the issue with double llSetText()'s.
