SL and wine

Make sure you have the emulation libraries for SDL et all. If you're using Gentoo and have WINE unmasked, the emerge takes care of it all.

Oh, wow! I finally went ahead and installed wine and the windows SL, cos some in game friends are getting married today and I just couldn't miss it, and it runs GREAT! No problems at all. I'm using PCLinuxOS, and whatever version of wine was in the distros. Sound and everything! It's sweet.
Edit-Hmmm, I take it back. I'm having the problem detailed in this thread only I doubt the fix described there will work. It's also mentioned earlier in this thread (skins w/ transparency and skirts with same). Anyone got a clue on a fix? I haven't got a windows install to boot to, and I'm supposed to be at an SL wedding at 1pmSL or 4pm eastern. Help!

I have the same problem with wine, even after setting wine colours to 32 bit in winecfg.

Unless the wine developers come up with something, I think we are stuck The Patch for SL is SL specific, and does nothing for wine (according to the person who wrote the patch).

However, if you carefully choose your clothes and skin, wine is OK.

Just beware of sheer outfits! You cannot see in wine that they ARE sheer, and that can be embarassing

I looked again, and with wine set to 32 bits, I do see whether outfits are sheer
