i did some growing up in southside suberbs like oak lawn and burbank

but now, happily enjoy 75 degree days in so cali

someone have a real pizza pie (you know, the PIES) and think of me

oh yeah, and truck load of White Castle Jalepenio Cheese sliders

I miss sliders the most =(

Even local St. Louisans have no idea where "Crystal Lake Park" is (pop. 500, tucked in between Frontenac and Creve Coeur).

Hacker/geeks etc. can meet up at Rivalz Technology Cafe (Maryland Hts) on the first Friday of every month for the "Midwest 2600 Club" meetups.

Q: How do I become a member of Midwest 2600?

It's on Bopp Road almost exactly 1/2 way between Clayton and Manchester. We're one of those tiny little St. Louis fiefdoms.

Non-hackers and geeks can come to Rivalz also. It's sort of a 18-25 year old hangout (I am WAY too old for that place, but they accept me with no problem) with no alcohol, just coffees and things. Typical meetup consists of practicing picking locks(!), using Google Earth to locate sex offenders (followed by discussions about the accuracy, morality, and politics of doing so), or attempting to decrypt the KRYPTOS statue at CIA HQ in Langley, VA.

And sometimes we just look at interesting vids downloaded via the net! I'm going to be demonstrating SL probably at the Feb. meetup (don't expect many for the January one - too near the Holidays).
