Just set this up on frapper (a cool friend-mapping application):
http://www.risingconcepts.com/frapper/secondlife  You can subscribe to the map (be notified once a day via email of new people added), upload a pic, and type in a short message for people to see. My towns all come up on the menu that pops up but when i select any of them it says "undefined" , I suspect this map is not compatible with Safari. (It does say Beta on it )
[edit] AHA !!!!! from the FAQ ... "If you're on a Mac, Safari and IE on Mac probably won't work right now. We are working on it!" |

How Do I Change My Shoutout?

OK, I added myself to the map, didn't like the picture, and added a different one. Now, my Shoutout message "Hi from Kansas City!" displays twice.

Whoa!
If you switch to satellite view, you can actually see my house... Including my GARDEN SHED! Very cool. And the placement of my pin is VERY close to my actual home... That's just a little creepy. yeah... creepy. _____________________

OKay, SL down so took the oppertunity to have a 'real' look around the boards and found this little gem. Love it! All you in florida... I wish good luck and safe days as Wilma speeds towards us. Those of you in the south, I hope and pray you all make it safe.

Hopefully when it comes out of beta it will have better administrative and other functionality. If not... If people live close to each other, well not even too close RL,.... the exclamation marks overlap and you can not see everyone. I am there but covered by a couple other peeps.
*goes to play with it more* Ohhhhh, if you hit refresh some go away and you see others..... still not seeing them all tho I think. _____________________

Pathfinder.... i am in roseburg,oregon and tried to add it to the rl location world map and it seems it would not add me as i didnt live in one of the big cities here. though the last time i tried seemed like it did but think it added me to eugene not roseburg which is not listed on the map. how can i be sure it added me?
thanks great idea!!! oh and how do you add an image here in the forums i chose the choose a picture icon but it just wanted me to insert some sort of script instead of giving me a browse button. thanks again |

how can i be sure it added me? Julianna, I run SL Frappr, and it doesn't appear you've been added. I'm not sure why, all locations work. I put my location down in po-dunk N.H. and it worked just fine. Frappr has a number of new features. A few things you may notice.
1) Finally we can have the deafult map be the whole world instead of just the U.S. 2) You can associate "tags" with maps. Our map has the tags, "second" "life" "secondlife" "metaverse" "virtual" Any other ideas? 3) You can create a Frappr account, and edit your own location, pic, interests, etc. Check it out: SL Frappr _____________________
