What's with the snow?
04-04-2007 17:17
In the GVRD of Vancouver, BC. Grew up a Delta/Surrey girl.

So what is it with the SL mainland snow? Does it ever melt? Doesn't SL have any mainland seasons?

Here in Greater Vancouver, if we even GET snow it's gone in January. In full bloom right now: daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, hellebores, pulmonaria, camellia bushes/trees, magnolias, azaleas, rhododendrons, tons of flowering Japanese cherry trees.....the peonies are half-grown and even my lilacs are in bud.

Signing into Second Life on the mainland is downright depressing. Snow, snow, always snow. If I wanted to look at virtual or real snow for any length of time I would move away from the beloved Pacific Northwest.

Go Canucks - almost in first place NW division!

Canadian content in SL
05-22-2007 07:53
From: Valerie Bethune
Hi, guys.

I'm in the Annex neighbourhood of Toronto here. I do wish we had more Canadian events or a sim that looks like Vieux Montreal or had a Tim Horton's or something :-), but being a Canadian I'm just whining without actually doing anything about it. HA!

Hey, while exploring I found "Sleazyville" AKA Sunnydale Trailer Park. Corey and Trevors
Convenience store is there, it's a hoot ! Trailer Park in SL ! You go boys !

I have been to Tim Hortons on here....it was quite cool actually.

Here are the coordinates

O City 175, 148, 24

As for a sim of Vieux Montreal...if I knew how to build/terraform, I would be all in!

Have fun! :)

Toronto here! Join my website botopia.net! Also: Wanted - SL films for T.O. filmfest!
05-28-2007 08:52
The T-Dot right here, peeps!

I've started a new community website/portal, http://botopia.net, which is all about artificial intelligence, SecondLife and other virtual worlds and economy, chatbots, robotics, tech news and entertainment. I'm looking for more SecondLifers to promote themselves on it!

Also: if you have a Google AdSense account, you can add the 'pub' number in your botopia profile, and share ad revenues with the site and community! If you don't have an AdSense account, make one (especially if you have a website already!)

Any questions? Contact me at twentyfive8@gmail.com

ALSO: We're looking for SecondLife films for an international film festival here in Toronto, from October 12 - 17th. Please contact me if you'd like to submit it, add it to the site, or need more information.

There's a Tim's?

Did they have a "Roll up the rim" contest also?

I can't win in RL so maybe I have a shot in SL, LOL.

Oh, and Ottawa is where I am from.

Kitchener Ontario here. We have the highest amount of Tim Hortons per capita than any other Canadian city apparently.

I live with in sight of a Tim Hortons :S

Also, I found the SL timmy's. Sad sad people.

err and according to SL stats we only make up 3% or even less so we are a definite minority.

Nor-dern Ontario EH!

Hey gang, my first post on this forum and I couldn't think of a better thread. :D

Born and raised in Toronto (East York and "Scarberia";), also lived just south off Barrie, and in the Bay of Quinte region.

Now residing in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. The Maple Leaf waves proudly on my SL property in Plumiria and I broadcast my unashamedly-Canadian-flavoured syndicated morning show from the property next door.

I am a Tim Horton's addict both SL and RL (the first step is admitting you have a problem right?).

My fellow Canadians are always welcome to visit The BEAR's Den and Sitting Duck Radio on SL any time!
