I'm Miller Copeland, a brand-new player, also located in Chicago (Uptown). In RL I'm the owner of an organization called the Chicago Center for Literature and Photography (or CCLaP), opening this September; among other things we're going to be hosting 60 live events in Chicago our first year. I'm hoping by the time this fall rolls around, I'll have figured out a way to simulcast these events in SL as well, everything from hiphop poetry slams to on-stage interviews with Pulitzer winners. Would love a chance to meet up in Chicago with other players (especially veterans), about their thoughts, what tech I'll need to pull such a thing off, and if they'd have any interest in being our tech facilitator during live events (I'll be busy actually hosting the event). I am orginally from Iowa and I would love to see Iowa SL represented here at a Midwest SL event!...oh and you can also email me at ~ [email]havercole@mac.com[/email]~ I am starting to think the end of Summer/early Fall would be good for a more formal event and maybe just a simple meet and greet during the summer if people want it. Or you can come over and I will make Jello shots and pb&j's....just a thought....

Well, I'd like to perhaps do a meet up July 1st, or the 7th or 8th?
I have friends from SL coming into town that week and it might be cool to have a little get together. I have friends in the city that could host an SL party, or we all can get together at Ed Debevic's Located at 640 N. Wells St. Think that would be a great ice breaker for shy-avatars ~ ) There are so many places to hook up at, I would love an SL meet and greet at the DA Vinci Exhibit, that would be a lot of fun and we all could get a learning experience before, during, and after boozing it up, lol... Let me know, I live 25min outside the city in Bolingbrook/Naperville. Lets try to get this going.. Devo |

Im in for the 7th or 8th of July for sure...also if we dont want to be downtown and have a more laid back city feel I live in Wicker Park and there are TONS of places with booze..I mean that are cute to hang out in here...the crowds are more casual and a wee bit less uppity than downtown. I can also look into getting us our own room or something?
