Why do 25 other store get to use bots but i get banned?

i would like to know why your staff threatebns to ban me for using bots but allows 25 other stores to still use them?i have played longer then any of them and sell the best and most stuff but i cant compete when they get to use bots and i cant atleast stop all them if your gonna do it not just me.please fix this not right!

They are fixing it but it takes time, don't worry about those breaching the policy, LL will get to them and warn them. Long term you'll be fine.

search results in "Search-Places" are *STILL* sorted by traffic.

So, if some store owner has ten bots that stay online all day, that store will have a traffic count of 14400 and rank higher than a similar store with no bots.

Ahh I questioned a store owner about why they had lots of grey clouds a few hundred meters up, he said.. its ok traffic doesn't matter anymore, these are for "work purposes".

Perhaps the other 25 stores are using better bots.

When you follow that xstreet link just above, that linked page has a link that is supposed to lead to the merchant's web site. That web site is dead.

Thus I'd suspect the answer is No, they aren't ones I'd try if I were bot shopping.

Good bots, in this context, would appear real enough to keep the SL staff from quickly and unambiguously concluding they are bots.

Another reason why one out of 26 similar situations results in governance action while the other's don't is that the action is based on reports of abuse. One person might have a competitor who decides to file reports, or have annoyed someone who decides to get revenge and who concludes that reporting bots in one way to get revenge.

jrenslow, Linden Lab employees don't read this forum, except for a very small number of threads which they themselves started.

Regardless of whether they enforce the no-traffic-bots rule consistently, it IS a rule and they are entitled to make you stop. LL will get to the other stores in time. Rather than worrying about the other stores, I'd try to invent a new way to attract customers.

Man I'm glad I have a shop on an RP sim and cater mostly to the others who reside there! It sounds like a real nightmare out there!

I have noticed that Coco Cola doesn't just advertise in the telephone directory and wait for people to search to find them.

Point being, quit worrying about what everyone else is doing and GET OUT THERE! Do your own advertising, your own marketing.

I have tiny traffic compared to some and yet I do just great thanks.

Some of my best selling locations have the smallest traffic compared to those with say 40,000+.

Yus but traffic can and does boost sales due to the way the system works, if they changed the system to listing places in order of how much money is spent there for example.. that might have other undesirable consequences..

I was thinking to limit the dwell that a particular avatar can give e.g. one avatar can only give a max 60minutes worth of dwell per day at a location..
time spent there beyond 60mins no longer registers any dwell points.

Traffic is just a metric, probably most of the places i shop at, I never use search to find, get out there, put the business in front of people, that's all i'm saying.

is a joke !! i made the mistake of moving to a parcel , that i come to find out that i had a neighbor had mmmm close to 40 bots (no joke) .. well after having problems with lag most of the time i found out that 90 percent of them were born on the same date !! so thats how i learned about bots!! so i reported to LL about it and they didnt do anything about it ...
(I used the cause that they used unnessary resourses in the sim ) so i got the heck out of their as soon as i found new land ... i dont have a problem with a few bots to display clothes or whatever but to have 40 bots in a box 2K in the air is crazy ...

Yep, I rented in a sim like that once. Saw a bunch of green arrows on my mini-map all the time. One day, figuring there was some party going on I didn't know about, I went in search of them. Couldn't find them in the grid, so I IMd another resident and he told me that they were bots. It didn't slow down the sim at all, but I moved shortly after that anyway b/c the people ended up not being my kind of people.

OP's case is funny. Have fun re-selling freebies and banning any non-bot avatars from your particle classes. (^_^)

Search is a joke. Everywhere, take xstreets or inworld. Medieval technology level.

Would be nice using logic to chain search words, as in "shoes AND NOT (heels OR blink OR twingo OR slingo OR free OR stolen)"

regarding bots ... in my country, they do a fun sport named "Bot Spotting".

I believe you can accomplish this by using

shoes -heel -blink -twingo -slingo -free -stolen

That at least seems to work in the All search tab.

My understanding was that you can use the same syntax for inworld search as you would use in google searches.

OMG i had to look twice at this post, mr baller or whatever name your using lately who has to change names of store and land as onece yourt location gets outed as ballers store your traffic falls to zero as its free scripts you sell. And non existent services.

Anyhoooooo if your such a good resident and have played so long you would realize that bots on MAINLAND is stealing rescorses from others. so those 16 bots you have at 2400 mtrs on a coke can ( i have it somewhere on my pc the pic) going up and down would be stealing from the other residents on your MAINLAND PARCEL.

I my self have 3 bots. not hidden and sitting there. 2 are for stats i use for part of my business on enhancing a business in sl, and one is a teacher and banker and group type person. they are not to inflate traffic as they sit on 3 different parcels and my traffic is never more than 5 - 6k and yes i get a lot of genuine traffic.

You have upset so many over the years with your business practices i am surprised you got away it for so long.

Infact, i am surprised how you survive as you must have 3/4 of the grid auto banned from your store by now.
