How about whenever a Mentor spams the IM, report them. If enough people report them, they'll be suspended for a little while. Instead of being so rude as to keep talking about nonsense... I believe that I've become the MENTOR CHAT POLICE. And telling people to stop spamming... It's pathedic really... But I guess I'll have to keep saying "STOP SPAMMING THE MENTOR CHAT" and reporting them till they stop. It's childish when you ask someone not to do something and they keep doing it. So please... just stop. It's not that complex, you are all intelligent people. Now show it. I don't think you'd want to be suspended for something so stupid as SPAMMING. That's below pathedic. And I know I sound mean but, you spammers have me on the brink of using profanity....

How about whenever a Mentor spams the IM, report them. Although you're idea has merit, it's not constructive. One mans spam is another mans question. You or someone else might consider an honest question in Mentor IM spam. Who's to say that it really is. There has been a TON less spam in the chat over the past month or more. It's getting better because people are becoming more aware of what the IM channel is for, rather than chatting with someone. Mentors are becoming more aware that replying rudely to a question, is in itself spam and no better than the original. Rule of thumb should be, if you don't have anything to offer, close the window - no comments necessary. I say leave well enough alone. It won't be better overnight, but it will better. I not sure that reporting is constructive. A Mentor shouldn't fear asking a question in IM - because of someone turning in an AR on them. _____________________

So for that matter is a pair of Lindens using the mentor IM channel to compare notes on, believe it or not, a skunk AV that emits green particles when touched... Both of which I heard within an hour of each other one day recently. _____________________
All very well for people to have a sig that exhorts you to 'be the change' - I wonder if it's ever occurred to them that they might be something that needs changing...?

Since you hate SL so much and have nothing to contribute but emotional outbursts, herassing the Live Help group, chewing out the Lindens over a MINOR issue during a well deserved holiday break and <insert publically displayed bad behaviour here> then why not just stop logging into the forums and game? Its been a bit over a month since the Mentor channel was a REAL problem with spam. People have been policing themselves outstandingly for weeks. Sure there is an occasional bit but SO WHAT? Do what i do and send a POLITE IM to the person with a reminder to just try to keep it under control. You'll get a few people who immediately explode. SO WHAT. You can just close the IMs. There is nothing forcing you to reply after giving the advice. So calm down, ask your doctor for gods sake to increase your ridilin, have a drink or visit your local red light district or whatever it takes for you to come here without an emotional burden that no one else wants to witness. |

Lord knows I am far from perfect in terms of getting angry myself, but you seem to be behaving in a real "un-mentorlike" way. If you really feel the way you say you do about the "spam" and LiveHelp, and the Lindens, you should leave the group. _____________________

For starters, what u consider spam other may not so factor that in, also we are supposed to work as a team not get all pissy and Abuse report your team, that's just bad sportsman ship, and if u don't like the spam then leave.

Please stop. It's just annoying. And as argumental as you are I think you too are one of the spammers. And also, telling someone to leave is really rude. Your not a linden, and your not in charge of the Mentors groups. So you have no right to tell me to leave. And also, by telling me to leave means I annoy with because I am against YOUR spam. So I am going to stay and keep reporting spam when I see it. Thanks for the warning, I'll look out for you in chat!  |

This forum is seriously getting out of hand. You know what this is like: A little girl begins crying, the little boy next to her, begins crying as well. When the mother askes her son what's wrong he goes, "I don't know, I'm crying because she is crying". About 10 minutes later 10 or more little kids begin to cry for the same reason as the little boy. When the little girl stop crying, the other children keep crying because they were crying so loudly that they did not hear the little girl stop. The girl even leaves, and the other children continue to cry. When the girl askes the other children to stop crying, the children cry even louder. Forcing the girl to do nothing but sit back and watch the other children make fools of themselves crying for no reason at all. And the moral of the story is: Just because I rant, doesn't mean you should come along behind me ranting. It does not solve anything, nor does it help anyone. I think that if you are a real mature adult. You would stop posting negative remarks. I admit that some stuff I said and did may be wrong but, that give no one any right to tell me I was wrong. So if your a mature adult, you either apologize, or say nothing at all. And we let this thread fade... Don't judge a book by it's cover. I'm a very sweet person and I only come to forum for help mainly. So, why are you even talking? They arn't there for people to try and control others. all it will do is make people afraid of asking for help! What's with you? If someone needs help ask on the channel.... its not spam. fair enough, keep the pointless.... but don't scare people so they don't know what they can post or can't post. Threads like this are not helping anyone! Lindens will sort out the spammer.... no one else. |

I'm good. A lot of people are angry about this spam situation. And I don't see you harrassing their thread. But that's okay because until the spam has stopped, I won't stop asking people to stop. So anything you say won't effect me. And if you don't like me fine, I don't care. I have tons of friends, I didn't sign up to "joke around" on important group IMs.
FYI Spammers, your the reason that there aren't enough mentors. People are saying there is a lack in mentors, well, that's because all of the mentors are leaving because of the spam. Read the threads, see for yourself I'm only one person in a group of people sick and tired of mentor spam. If you have an email like aol, or have it. You can report spam. So I am doing what is right, and reporting it, rather than making a game out of helping people. P.S- I realize that the people who are saying rude remarks are the spammers (because they are getting angry over something that is very much true), so I'll look out for you in mentor chat |

It seems to me this person likes it when she gets everyone "fired up". Perhaps not responding to her posts (yes you do make alot of them and mostly negative) she will cease creating them.
I am surprised as well that someone who has such a negative attitude in the forums, would be representing LL and SL for new residents. On a side note, there are MANY mentors, some like me, just don't get to HI or the Welcome areas as much as they would like. I am sure as soon as you read this Ices, you will retaliate with a post saying to the effect that I'm childish, I need to go home, or some sort of "comeback". But that's okay. If it makes you feel better to respond in a lashing tone and "yell" at me..go for it. Just means you leave everyone else alone. I can take it...fire away. -Celeste |
