Tateru Nino: Thanks for coming everyone. Usual rules apply. Tat is the chair. If she tells you to hush or pipe down, please do so with a smile, so we all get a chance to speak.
Tateru Nino: Respect each-other's rights to say what they think and feel, and let them take their turn before you jump in, so we all get a chance to be heard.
Tateru Nino: Usual format is notices, discussion items, and then general random discussion (not logged).
Tateru Nino: Logs are posted to the forums.
Tateru Nino: First up, welcome to those of you that haven't been to one of these before. It's not going to be a long meeting today, I think, we only have a few items. And welcome to anyone who is new to the volunteer programmes.
Tateru Nino: Jeska's been down with a nasty case of bronchitis for over a week, and that's why we've heard so little from her. I'm not sure if she's online from home today, or back in the office. Either way she'll be way behind.
Millie Thompson: I will have to excuse myself for a few minutes, going to take a look at a problem a resident is having.
Sean Gorham: ouch.
Tateru Nino: No worries, Millie.
Ginny Gremlin: poor Jeska. I've had bronchitis, and know what its like
Tateru Nino: If she's in the office today, she should probably be spanked and sent home. Monday would be soon enough and would give her an extra three days to mend. Personal opinion.
Tateru Nino: Anyway, we pretty much got no new volunteers this week, as a result....
Toy LaFollette: last time I had it I ended up with pneumonia... don’t mess with it
Denise Collingwood: I am new
Ginny Gremlin: congrats Denise
SignpostMarv Martin: ^relatively new
Tateru Nino: Welcome, Denise. :) Last week, I'm guessing.
Denise Collingwood: Monday
Tateru Nino: Cool. Either we lost quite a few or we didn't get many new ones in.
Tateru Nino: Mentors, currently 674 (4 fewer than last week).
Tateru Nino: Greeters, 130 - no change again.
Tateru Nino: Live Helpers, still 159.
Tateru Nino: Instructors, 428...down two from last week.
Tateru Nino: Fairly static, all things considered. Due to Jeska's illness, the monthly mentor meetings were a wash on Tuesday. They may be rescheduled, or they may slip to next month.
Tateru Nino: Next item. Help Island. A few things happened there this week.
Tateru Nino: On Wednesday, the island was severely damaged. Auto-return was set on several parcels, and the greeter system, much of the educational facilities and the core of the greeter hub building all vanished.
Tateru Nino: The damage was severe enough to warrant a roll-back of the sim. Many thanks to Kenny and Kelly Linden for handling the repairs.
Tateru Nino: The next day a key piece of the communications network was returned, damaging the communications network, and new folks calling for help on one side of the island could not be heard from the other.
Tateru Nino: I managed to get that fixed after about 3 hours. I apologise for the delay.
Tateru Nino: Last help island item...Robin's given limited license for Help Island decoration for Easter, which I've done, thanks to Mera Pixel for the prim-work.
Shoshana Epsilon: Yay!
Ginny Gremlin: yipeeee
Ginny Gremlin: saw an Easter basket
SignpostMarv Martin: cute lil bunnies all over :-P
Gwyneth Llewelyn: hmm what kind of bunnies?!
Tateru Nino: Some people find rabbits and chocolate eggs for Easter to be religiously offensive, so if anyone complains contact me or Lethe Naumova, or any liaison if we're not available, and we'll see to the instant removal of the decorations.
Tateru Nino: Questions or comments?
Ginny Gremlin: I find it offensive to remove these items
Dominik Bauer: I'd recommend they just unplug their computer if that is offensive LOL
(HI)SignpostMarv Martin: (good thing there's not that many politicians in SL then :-P)
Sean Gorham chuckles.
Denise Collingwood ponders how a chocolate egg can be offensive to anyone....
Gwyneth Llewelyn *raises hand*
Shirley Marquez: how does all this damage keep happening to Help Island?
yankee Faulkner: I missed the island!!
Tateru Nino: A little accidental lindening, Shirley. It happens. That's how you end up with half your house on your neighbour's lawn sometimes. Gwyn?
Gwyneth Llewelyn: well... if people really find Easter decorations offensive...
Ginny Gremlin: oh, a slip of the finger?
Gwyneth Llewelyn: ... could we sort of put a note there?
Gwyneth Llewelyn: A disclaimer.
Shoshana Epsilon raises her hand
Tateru Nino: Might not be a bad idea. Want to try wording something up for me?
Gwyneth Llewelyn makes a note to herself. "Right"
Tateru Nino: Sho?
Shoshana Epsilon: I've noticed that the Greeter calling windows (whatever you call them) don't seem to be working right.
Shoshana Epsilon: I touched one, selected a greeter and he didn't know he was on call.
SignpostMarv Martin: them things that have a clock appear on them every so often ?
Shoshana Epsilon: And another greeter on Hi couldn't get hers to work.
Tateru Nino: I've noticed much the same, alas. They don't seem to be getting notifications through to the greeters. They may be working occasionally, but I suspect it's not-at-all again.
Tateru Nino: Those are the things, SP.
Shoshana Epsilon: Also, Tat ....
Tateru Nino: Those are Jeska's babies, and I'm sure she'll get some resources allocated to look at them as soon as she can. Please report any problems you're having with it to the forum sticky that she made for that purpose.
Tateru Nino: /207/5d/97443/1.html
Shoshana Epsilon: I've been wandering around with my script-foo and I've found LOTS of random builds, most of them under the water and platform. Can we get someone to clear them?
Shoshana Epsilon: I'd be glad to help point them out.
SignpostMarv Martin: I mentioned those to Harry, I thought he had them cleared ?
Shoshana Epsilon: There were a bunch there yesterday or the day before.
Tateru Nino: Rez one of those on or next to them, then call a liaison through. They don't always see all the junk we do.
Shoshana Epsilon: Nods
Shoshana Epsilon: (I'm done)
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ah, these are nice . can I have a copy, please?
Tateru Nino: They're not exactly pretty in and of themselves, but they do the job.
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Or are they available at the office?
Ginny Gremlin: may I have a copy of that too ;please Tat?
Gwyneth Llewelyn: thank you :)
Toy LaFollette: they are also fun to wear as a hat :)
Ginny Gremlin: thanks ;))
SignpostMarv Martin: ^asks for a copy as well
Gwyneth Llewelyn: lol Toy :)
Tateru Nino hands them around.
Lexa Pierterson: might as well put her name on the list too
SignpostMarv Martin: does it have edit perms to notify that the litter in question is underwater ?
SignpostMarv Martin: as I'm guessing that simply placing above the water might not be as intuitive
Tateru Nino: The particle stream goes...pretty darn high. Hundreds of metres.
Gwyneth Llewelyn: You could place them *under* the water, the particles go up... oops, sorry. Typing slowly today!
SignpostMarv Martin: ah, sorry- technical issues (particles not being rendered fully)
Tateru Nino: The only caveat is that you have to be within 50 metres or so to see the red beacon. Well....I do.
Tateru Nino: Could just be my settings :)
Tateru Nino: Teeple's used to scouring for these, though. If you give him a rough idea of where to look, he's good at spotting and cleaning.
Gwyneth Llewelyn *nods* I have had great success with Teeple as 'litter cleaner' before (on other sims)
Tateru Nino: Teeple tries to get past Help Island at least a couple times per shift for janitorial work. But he is neither all seeing nor all knowing - alas.
Tateru Nino squints sleepily at the agenda. Sorry...it's early saturday morning for me.
Tateru Nino: That's all the informational notices I've got. I have a discussion item though.
Tateru Nino: Scams.
Shoshana Epsilon: Yes!
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ah, great, Tateru.
Sean Gorham: the spinning green dollar signs?
Ginny Gremlin: yes!
Gwyneth Llewelyn *nods* the dollar sign indeedy.
Tateru Nino: You've all probably seen the new dollar-sign pyramid scheme, or read about it in the forums. And most of you probably know that it fails the test of a legal MLM in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and probably other countries as well.
Shoshana Epsilon: Will LL remove them, then?
Tateru Nino: Now, I've got to admit, I'm less interested in the legal ramifications here. LL will talk with their legal counsel, and will do what they believe is the legal thing to do.
SignpostMarv Martin: ^would've thought it'd only need to fail the legal MLM test in the US for them to be removed since SL is hosted in the US
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Good point, yes.
Dominik Bauer: prostitution isn't legal in the US either - nor is gambling...
Dominik Bauer: in most states...
Gwyneth Llewelyn: hehe Dominik... well... not in most states ;)
Dominik Bauer: touchy subject
Tateru Nino: The question is, what should we do? Should we make an effort to warn people? Should we stay impartial and ignore the problem? Or should we leave it to an individual volunteer's discretion?
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Namely, not in California.
Tateru Nino: Who wants to venture an opinion first. In turns, please.
Dominik Bauer: prostitution is legal in most EU countries
SignpostMarv Martin: ^sticks hand up
Shoshana Epsilon raises her hand
Gwyneth Llewelyn *raises hand*
Tateru Nino: SP first, then Sho. Go, SP. Say when you're done.
Tateru Nino: Everyone let him talk.
Dominik Bauer: *raises 2 hands*
Toy LaFollette raises hand
Ginny Gremlin raises hand
Tateru Nino: Hot topic :) (taking note of names)
Lexa Pierterson: wonders what the hot topic was as she dusts herself off
SignpostMarv Martin: I'm proposing that warnings of scams be placed in notecards given out in Volunteer created Welcome Packs
Gwyneth Llewelyn: The 'dollar sign scam', Lexa :)
Lexa Pierterson: good idea
SignpostMarv Martin: Thus killing a few birds with one stone in an unobtrusive manner
SignpostMarv Martin: as opposed to a flashing neon sign in Help Island saying "beware of these things, this this and this, welcome to SL, have a nice day"
SignpostMarv Martin: as new residents might be put off by such things
Tateru Nino grins at the thought of big neon signs.
Tateru Nino: Done, SP?
SignpostMarv Martin: there abouts
Tateru Nino: Thanks, dear. Sho?
SignpostMarv Martin: best to shut up now before I ramble tho:-P
Shoshana Epsilon: I like Marv's idea about a warning. But I haven't noticed the signs. Can you briefly explain it?
Tateru Nino: Okay, Toy.
SignpostMarv Martin: (has other suggestions for contents of welcome pack btw)
Tateru Nino: Other suggestions for contents of a welcome pack go to Sean Gorham, Gwyn or Fairge.
Dominik Bauer: /108/79/98043/1.html
Dominik Bauer: http://www.sluniverse.com/moneytree.jpg <- that’s how it looks like
Millie Thompson raises her paw
Tateru Nino: Basically, the dollar sign promises lots of money. You buy it for L$100, and it gives you a card and a copy of the sign, I believe. You set the sign out, and it pays the person who buys it from you 10%.
Shoshana Epsilon: Ouch.
Shoshana Epsilon: Thank you.
Tateru Nino: Gwyn after Sho, then Dominik, Ginny and Millie.
Lexa Pierterson: kind of like a pyramid scheme
Tateru Nino: Alright, Gwn?
Tateru Nino: Exactly like one. Wikipedia has an entry on them.
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Well, just to add that we have always be warning newbies about First Land
Gwyneth Llewelyn: and the few scams that are done by not-so-honest older residents
Gwyneth Llewelyn: So there is a 'tradition' of warning people off.
Ginny Gremlin: about first land?
Ginny Gremlin: May I have an explanation on that?
Shirley Marquez: offering to buy it for under market value, Ginny
Gwyneth Llewelyn: I'd say, even if 'legally' this might NOT be considered a scam (the jury is still out on that)
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ah yes, Ginny
Ginny Gremlin: ahhhh
Ginny Gremlin: okay
Ginny Gremlin: its buyer beware
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Just the usual warning we give to newbies: although you but it for L$1/sq m, it's worth more.
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Yes
SignpostMarv Martin: caveat emptor ?
Gwyneth Llewelyn: I think that at the very least
Gwyneth Llewelyn: the dollar sign is also 'user beware'
Gwyneth Llewelyn: That's it . I'm done :)
Tateru Nino: So, it's not considered a great departure from what we already do then, Gwyn?
Ginny Gremlin: I feel the dollar sign is also a fraud, as no real product is bought
Tateru Nino: Okay. Dominik. You're next.
Dominik Bauer (likes to withdraw his raised hand to get a cough drop)
Gwyneth Llewelyn: No, since if someone buying First Land for L$ 1.5/sq. m. is not a 'scam', but we still warn newbies about it!
SignpostMarv Martin: ^raises hand
Tateru Nino adjusts the list a bit.
Dominik Bauer: yes, generally agree with what was already said. thanks
Tateru Nino: Not a problem. :)
Tateru Nino: Ginny, then Millie, then SP.
Ginny Gremlin: just to reiterate what I mentioned before. I feel the pyramid scheme is also a fraud as there is not real product
Tateru Nino: Some might argue that the dollar sign is such a product, but yes. The difference between a pyramid scheme and a legal MLM is the presence of product that are sold to non-participants.
Tateru Nino: Millie?
Lexa Pierterson: might it be considered a form of gambling?
Millie Thompson: I found one of those scheme signs in Lusk the other day, I don't know if its fair, but I sent in an abuse report about the object.
Millie Thompson: Lusk's auto return eventually dealt with the object deleting it.
Millie Thompson: I am done.
Tateru Nino: If you see one on public or linden land, by all means AR it. If you see one on someone's land where you think it doesn't belong, contact the landowner, and leave them a message.
Tateru Nino: SP.
Ginny Gremlin: puts up hand
SignpostMarv Martin: (feels like a portable Nintendo product)
2 points: (via SignpostMarv Martin)
Dominik Bauer: (excuse me - I have to go - RL calls)
Tateru Nino: Thanks for coming, Dom.

Toy LaFollette: back
SignpostMarv Martin: 1) Newbies should really be warned about anything that is designed to, or inadvertently take advantage of their newbie status, their naivety/gullibility/trusting nature etc
Gwyneth Llewelyn *nods*
Sean Gorham agrees.
Ginny Gremlin: /cant really think of them all
Toy LaFollette: the main warning I would like to see us give is do not give anything permission to access your funds unless they are absolutely sure what is involved
SignpostMarv Martin: 2) Not all newbies get to speak to Volunteers, either by skipping OI/HI, viewing them as NPCs, or by not speaking/reading English all that well
Tateru Nino: Too true :/
Sean Gorham: that's a whole 'nother problem.
Shirley Marquez: I actually saw a "Gullibility Detector" at a yard sale recently -- it said to pay it 10 Lindens for an assessment LOL
Gwyneth Llewelyn seconds 1)
Gwyneth Llewelyn: What, REALLY, Shirley?!
SignpostMarv Martin: ^hence further need for a multi-lingual volunteer created welcome pack
Gwyneth Llewelyn *shakes head*
SignpostMarv Martin: ^^Would probably require proper Unicode support, lots of textures (bad accessibility) or external links
Gwyneth Llewelyn volunteers to do translations in Portuguese (I have already some translated stuff), although there are only 50 or so Portuguese speakers in the whole of SL, hehe
Tateru Nino: Stay focused, people. And let SP finish.
SignpostMarv Martin: SL is available on the net, it's available to anyone with an internet connection (no matter how fast or slow)
SignpostMarv Martin: Regardless of age or background, two things or constant:
SignpostMarv Martin: 1) People can be @holes
SignpostMarv Martin: 2) People can be stupid
Shaun Altman: Hi
SignpostMarv Martin: passive means of informing the odd newbie that strikes up conversation with a volunteer who may or may not be aware of all the scams/fraudulent activity going on in SL isn't enough to help newbies
Tateru Nino: Reaching people in SL is always a problem. We can't even reach most volunteers.
Gwyneth Llewelyn: Hmm sadly true.
Shaun Altman: I heard about this "$" thing and thought I'd stop in.. anyone know where I can see this?
Tateru Nino: Sorry for cutting in there, SP.
SignpostMarv Martin: I'd suggest that if a welcome pack were created, that we ask LL to fiddle it so all newbies get the welcome pack-regardless of whether they start in OI or not
Toy LaFollette: Shaun, I believe most land owners delete them as soon as they see them
SignpostMarv Martin: to negate the whole chance passive delivery of helpful info
SignpostMarv Martin: ^about done on that one
SignpostMarv Martin: ^^not all newbies will know how to grab objects from a vendor btw
Tateru Nino: I believe the Orientation Islands and the starting information are all being redesigned and revised. SP, could you email your suggestion to Jeska <jeska@lindenlab.com>. Same goes for anyone who has a suggestion for what LL should do.
Tateru Nino: I am not in a position to speak for you, after all. Or for anyone, other than myself :)
SignpostMarv Martin: ^has a never ending list of suggestions :-P
Tateru Nino: Well, particularly anything to do with newbie orientation and OI/HI goes to Jeska.
Tateru Nino: Ginny. I seem to recall you had your hand up.
Ginny Gremlin: hehe I can't remember now what I was going to say
Tateru Nino: Have I missed any hands?
Gwyneth Llewelyn: (anyone wants a freebie 'hand raise' gesture? ;) )
SignpostMarv Martin: back
Lexa Pierterson: *raises her hand*
Shoshana Epsilon: (Yes, Gwyn!)
Tateru Nino: Lexa. Go.
Lexa Pierterson: would love one
Sean Gorham: sure, Gwyn!
Tateru Nino: Ah :)
Ginny Gremlin: please Gwyn
Lexa Pierterson: Well, I supposed everyone knows what Angie's list is
Ginny Gremlin: oh
Ginny Gremlin: I kno0w
florenze Kerensky: please Gwyn
Ginny Gremlin: is the creator of the signs
Lexa Pierterson: What if we created a SL Angie's List of sorts
SignpostMarv Martin: ??
Shaun Altman: I don't know what that list is
Shoshana Epsilon: Ginny? You know who created the signs?
Lexa Pierterson: of recommended places that do not have complaints
Ginny Gremlin: receiving a kickback on all the other signs?
Shaun Altman: could you explain it to me?
SignpostMarv Martin: no idea what it is either
Lexa Pierterson: Yes, Shaun...of course
Ginny Gremlin: no
Tateru Nino: Lexa, could you explain for us?
Lexa Pierterson: Angie's list is a list that is put together by a lady who wanted to help other people find reputable people to do business with
Ginny Gremlin: I would imagine the sign would say who the creator is
Lexa Pierterson: People that can be trusted and have good customer service, products and are pleasant if they need to do returns
Lexa Pierterson: We all have dealt with people here that we have loved doing business with.
SignpostMarv Martin: ^sticks hand up to make a point about that type of list
Lexa Pierterson: and those we have said we would never go back.
Shoshana Epsilon *raises hand*
Shoshana Epsilon *raises hand*
Lexa Pierterson: The list would not be a list to make any kind of money
Shoshana Epsilon: (Sorry to do it twice)
Lexa Pierterson: or favouritism toward certain sellers
Lexa Pierterson: But… kind of like a better business bureau of SL
Gwyneth Llewelyn: awww
Lexa Pierterson: only in a positive way and not a negative way
Shaun Altman: that list will lead to nothing but bad things
SignpostMarv Martin: ^^has an important point about that kind of list and why it is bad
Gwyneth Llewelyn: is Shaun around? He'll probably make a comment on that
Shaun Altman: extortion, blackmail, bribery
Gwyneth Llewelyn: .... aaah he already did!
Gwyneth Llewelyn: lol
Shaun Altman: all come to mind
Tateru Nino: I'm going to jump in first, actually.
Lexa Pierterson: Well, we can all find negative things in everything there is
Shaun Altman: Lexa: "get on my list or you can't do business in SL, because NOBODY will trust you!"
Tateru Nino: So everyone hush a second.
Shaun Altman: yep I can definitely find some negative in that... sounds like the mark of the beast to me!
Shaun Altman: lol
Shaun Altman: but sorry
Shaun Altman: go ahead Tateru
Tateru Nino: We've already had problems on Help Island where businesses were named. Why? Because they had created something that was on display. And great was the horror thereof when a competitor's alt came through and say that they /didn't/ have 'equal promotion'/
Tateru Nino: Now bear with me a sec.
Tateru Nino: We don't want to get into that situation again on HI, so we avoid naming the names of for-profit businesses on HI, even when asked.
Tateru Nino: It was very nearly a disaster last time.
SignpostMarv Martin: ^^has point about why it would be bad other than anti-competitiveness
Tateru Nino: Now, what you do on the mainland, I figure is your business. I've already been asked twice about being on better-business-lists and honestly haven't taken the time.
Tateru Nino: There are some out there already.
Tateru Nino: Now...I've had my say...It's SP, Sho, and Shaun. Okay? SP. Go.
SignpostMarv Martin: the problem of Better Business Lists is multi-faceted
SignpostMarv Martin: aside from the anti-competitiveness thing
Shaun Altman: ok
SignpostMarv Martin: and the whole "you have to be buddies with the creators" thing
SignpostMarv Martin: you also have to trust the creators of the list otherwise the list is useless
SignpostMarv Martin: you've also got to take into account the rate of expansion SL is having
SignpostMarv Martin: I'm reading articles a few weeks apart that have the population alone growing by 5000 to 10000 a time
SignpostMarv Martin: business sprout up all the time
SignpostMarv Martin: most of them good
Tateru Nino: 650/day average.
SignpostMarv Martin: there'll always be more good business than bad ones
Lexa Pierterson: thinks we have beat the list topic to death. *smiles*
SignpostMarv Martin: The idea of a better business list reminded me of an article on computer security I read once
Tateru Nino: Possibly. But we’ve still got two people queued to speak.
SignpostMarv Martin: Trying to list all of the good things in SL will be a never ending task
SignpostMarv Martin: Listing all the bad things in SL will take up much less time
SignpostMarv Martin: Nobody will complain about anti- competitiveness
Tateru Nino: Done, SP?
SignpostMarv Martin: nearly :-P
Tateru Nino: Okay :)
SignpostMarv Martin: Bad experiences about a smaller percentage of businesses are likely to be more consistent than Good ones
SignpostMarv Martin: Mental block, but I think I made my point
SignpostMarv Martin: soz :-P
Tateru Nino: Alright, dear.
Tateru Nino: Sho? You're next.
Shoshana Epsilon: I feel certain that LL must have thought of this .... but if we can get the unique id on the spinning dollar sign thing, then LL should be able to trace the transaction back to the person getting 90%.
Tateru Nino: Time marches on. Let's all try to be concise.
Shoshana Epsilon: Right?
Shoshana Epsilon: (Question was pre-queued)
SignpostMarv Martin: (Point out the Creator attribute of objects)
Tateru Nino: I believe his name was on the forum somewhere.
Shoshana Epsilon: (OK, done)
Tateru Nino: Alright. Shaun is next.
Shoshana Epsilon: He's afk, I think.
Shoshana Epsilon: *nudges Shaun*
Tateru Nino: Indeed. Would someone like to jump in in the meantime?
SignpostMarv Martin: ^restraints self from making another ramble
Tateru Nino grins.
Tateru Nino: I think you've done your dash this time, SP :)
Shoshana Epsilon applauds Marv's restraint
Shaun Altman: back
Ginny Gremlin: your turn to talk Shaun
Tateru Nino: I have one other discussion item today, which I will defer until next week due to time constraints.
Tateru Nino: Shaun, go.
Shaun Altman: Ok I have 3 quick things on the topic of lists
Shaun Altman: (fairly quick) :D
Shaun Altman: first, white lists.. these cannot work because they are really a fascist thing (like Hitler)
Shaun Altman: the reason why is because
Shaun Altman: they operate under the assumption that anyone not on the list
Shaun Altman: is corrupt
SignpostMarv Martin: ^agrees
Shaun Altman: but in the real world there are a plethora of reasons beyond corruption why people would not want to be on a business list
Lexa Pierterson: *raises her hand again*
Tateru Nino: Okay, Lexa next, after Shaun.
Shaun Altman: second thing, blacklists
SignpostMarv Martin: ^was the point that the article was getting at
Shaun Altman: I totally echo the previous commenter's thoughts on these.. they actually can work if they're done right and I've been after one in SL for quite some time.. but can't really find anyone interested in really working on it
Shaun Altman: which brings me to #3 :D
Shaun Altman: If anyone here is really interested in doing this, I have a paper I wrote somewhere about how to make it work in SL
Shaun Altman: I'd be happy to code it up and write a notecard to give to newbies
Shaun Altman: but I have absolutely no time to administer claims, mediate, etc
Shaun Altman: would love to be part of the team in a coding capacity tho
Shaun Altman: that's about it on lists :D
Toy LaFollette was a part of the original RATE group...... knows the many problems :)
SignpostMarv Martin: ^that fits in with my idea of a warning section of a notecard in a welcome pack
SignpostMarv Martin: ^^the whole blacklisting thing
Tateru Nino: Any other point to make, Shaun?
Shaun Altman: No not right now.. just that I agree something is desperately needed, and that a white list definitely is NOT it :D
SignpostMarv Martin: ^agrees
Tateru Nino: Lexa.
Lexa Pierterson: thank you Tat. I appreciate the feed back from everyone on the comments and I do not necessarily disagree with the points been made. I would like to point out that for those of you that aren't familiar with Angie List in first life, it is very successful
Lexa Pierterson: and does not create a "blacklist" mentality for those not on the list
Tateru Nino: After Lexa says she'd DONE (and not before) we can collapse into random free-for-all discussion, and I'll turn the chat logging off.
Lexa Pierterson: It has grown to national proportions and is well respected in the business community.....so it isn't outside the realm of possibilities here and I have been working on creating something similar in SL… and that is why I brought it up here....because it
Lexa Pierterson: seemed something helpful to newbies. Thanks for listening to the suggestion
Lexa Pierterson: Done Tat.
Tateru Nino: Thanks, everyone for coming. If you want to talk...off the forum record, go for it
